Willie Thorne diagnosed with leukaemia

Willie Thorne has been diagnosed with leukaemia.
The 66-year-old legendary snooker player and BBC commentator has been left "devastated" after he was given the horrific news, and he is due to start chemotherapy in Spain today (19.03.20).
In a post on Twitter yesterday (18.03.20), he wrote: "I realise everybody is having a tough time minds just got worse I’ve been diagnosed with leukaemia I’m deveststed start chemotherapy tomorrow I’m in Spain were the health care is hopefully second to none love to you all willie x (sic)"
After revealing the news on social media, Willie admitted he couldn’t stop crying and he is at his "wits’ end" following the diagnosis.
In response to former Olympian Sally Gunnell, he wrote: "Thanks sally always been a fan can’t stop crying at the mo x (sic)"
Fellow snooker legend Jimmy White wished Willie well, and he replied: "Thanks jimmy im at my wits end at the mo x hope to see you soon wt (sic)"
Willie’s diagnosis comes after he took part in ‘The All New Monty: Who Bares Wins’ last year to raise awareness of male cancers.
But before baring all for the cause, Willie admitted he felt "apprehensive" his willy would show him up on stage alongside the likes of Ashley Banjo, Alexander Armstrong, Kelvin Fletcher, Joe Pasquale and Jason Cundy.
He said: "I’m a little bit apprehensive. The fact that I’m not as well hung as I’d like to be, is another reason."
Willie’s co-stars Kelvin and Matt Evers admitted they were planning to shave their pubic hairs into the shape of Willie’s moustache ready for their strip on the celebrity show.
Kelvin said: "We are planning on paying homage to Willie by having our pubic hairs shaped like his ‘tache.
"He’s been the patriarch of the group and he’s battling prostate cancer right now.
"He’s a legend."
