Will Mellor can’t contact Sheridan Smith about Two Pints reunion

Will Mellor is struggling to get Sheridan Smith on board for a ‘Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps’ reunion.
The 43-year-old actor is plotting a one off special for the cult classic sitcom with former co-stars Ralf Little and Natalie Casey keen to reprise their roles as Jonny Keogh and Donna Henshaw, but it’s not guaranteed that the episode will make it to air.
Will – who played mechanic Gaz Wilkinson on all eight series of the show until 2011 – told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column: "I can’t get hold of Sheridan, I’ve not spoken to her.
"I don’t know how we would schedule it, it’s tough. Ralf is up for it, Natalie Casey is up for it but I think it has to be all of us or none of us."
The reunion idea will only become a reality if the team can convince Sheridan – who is currently starring in ‘Joseph And The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat’ on the West End – to play Janet Keogh again.
However, if she doesn’t make a comeback, Will still has a back up plan.
He explained: "There is a chance of a spin-off with Ralf. I am talking to the writer, we’re trying to get something started."
It would be interesting to see how the team will go about bringing back Jonny after the character was eaten by a shark during a competition holiday in Hawaii.
Janet received the devastating news in a phone call during the series seven premiere in 2008, with Ralf’s alter ego being killed off screen.
‘Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps’ has been gaining new fans after all 79 episodes were added to iPlayer, with Gold also showing re-runs in the evening.
