Wet Wet Wet set to tour UK to mark 40th birthday of debut album

Wet Wet Wet are set to tour Britain to mark the 40th birthday of their debut album.

The band – which now includes its bassist founding member Graeme Clark, as well as its long-time touring guitarist Graeme Duffin and lead singer Kevin Simm – are using the shows to celebrate their record Popped In Souled Out.

Graeme Clark was quoted in The Sun saying about the upcoming tour: “Forty years later, those songs have taken on a life of their own, and this tour is about celebrating where it all began without forgetting what followed.”

Graeme Duffin has been with Wet Wet Wet since 1983, while Kevin Simm – formerly of Liberty X – has toured with the group since 2018.

The band’s tour will start at Watford Colosseum, London, on 7 February next year, with more shows throughout the month.

A second leg of the tour is set to kick off at De Montfort Hall, Leicester, on 4 October.

Released in 1987, Popped In Souled Out features hit singles Wishing I Was Lucky, Sweet Little Mystery, Angel Eyes and Temptation.

The tunes propelled the band to becoming one of the most successful artists in British pop history.

Across two extensive UK touring runs in February and October 2027, Wet Wet Wet will perform songs from the album – alongside a catalogue of beloved hits spanning their career.

The band said on their website they also “look forward to having a little help from their friends on selected dates with special guests Roachford, Nick Heyward, Rebecca Ferguson, Heather Small, Johnny Hates Jazz, The Christians and The South”.

A ticket pre-sale will start at 10am BST on Wednesday, 14 April.

Tickets go on general sale at 10am BST on Friday, 17 April.

VIP packages are available for all Popped In Souled Out UK tour dates in the pre-sale and general sale.

They include the ‘VIP Soundcheck / Meet and Greet Experience’, available in limited numbers.

The package features “top price premium” seated tickets, exclusive access to the band’s sound check including a run through of selected songs.

It also includes an individual photo opportunity with the band, commemorative souvenir VIP laminate with lanyard and a tour programme hand-signed by the band.
