Wes Nelson: ‘Music is the only thing that’s resonated’

Wes Nelson says music is the only thing that’s ever "resonated" with him.

The ‘Love Island’ star – who appeared on the ITV2 dating show in 2018 – insisted his ambitions as a singer aren’t just a "passion project or a whim".

He told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: "I’ve done a lot in 22 years, but music is the only thing that’s really resonated -  this is the one thing I really want to do.

"This is not a passion project or a whim or gimmick. I’m in this for the long haul."

Wes kick started his musical career when he took part in ‘The X Factor: Celebrity’ last year with fellow Islanders Zara McDermott, Eyal Booker, Wes Nelson and Samira Mighty in the band No Love Lost.

Wes kick started his musical career when he took part in ‘The X Factor: Celebrity’ last year with fellow Islanders Zara McDermott, Eyal Booker, Wes Nelson and Samira Mighty in the band No Love Lost.

However, the group split three months after being kicked off a week before the quarter finals, as they decided to explore solo careers.

The 22-year-old star is set to release his debut single ‘See Nobody’ on Friday (18.09.20) and has already received nods from actor Idris Elba, boxer Anthony Joshua, and footballers Raheem Sterling and Jack Grealish after playing the track to them all.

Wes shared a montage of videos of himself playing the song for his famous friends with the caption: "HERE IT IS!! My debut single ‘see nobody’ landing on 17th September!!

"Wrote by me, produced by @ayobeatz and featuring… been working on an absolute movie here’s a couple reactions from my people Hows it sounding? (sic)"

A number of pals commented on the clip to praise the star for his upcoming track.

Rapper ZieZie wrote: "Let’s get it broo"

Whilst former N-Dubz rapper Dappy commented: "Effortless"

Meanwhile, Wes said he would never have to work again after his stints on reality shows made him a millionaire.

He recently said: "I was a millionaire by the age of 21. And that’s not being a show off or anything, but it’s wise investments and understanding this life doesn’t last forever.

"I’ve been lucky to have so many shows under my belt, and I’m super grateful for that.

"I have a passive income and generational wealth, so my children, whenever they come about, they’re not going to have to work again. I don’t have to work again." as they decided to explore solo careers.
