Camila Cabello performed at a fan’s wedding in Iowa the day after a chance meeting at a hotel.
The Havana hitmaker, 28, bumped into the fan on the eve of her wedding and agreed to perform her hit First Man from 2019’s Romance album as the bride and her father danced in an emotional moment.
The bride’s cousin shared the performance to Instagram and Camila – who wowed in a floaty black gown – explained how she came to soundtrack the “father-daughter dance moment”.
She recounted: “We were at our hotel yesterday and I run into Kelli and her family.
She’s like, ‘Guess what, I’m doing my father-daughter dance to your song, First Man.’ I got to meet Kelli, I got to meet her family and I got to meet her amazing dad Clay, and First Man is a really special song to me because it’s a song I wrote about my dad, and about the moment that I get married. Which I have not been married yet.”
She continued: “We kind of planned this and it was kind of a little last minute thing that we put together, and I’m really honoured to be a part of this moment for you, Kelli.
“I’m happy to be a part of, specifically this father-daughter dance moment, because I’m such a daddy’s girl and I feel like your dad, if you’re lucky, is your first love, is your first hero, and he’s the man that kind of sets the stage for the next man in your life.”
The former Fifth Harmony star concluded: “I could tell from speaking to you guys yesterday that your dad loves the hell out of you. Just from the look in your eyes, I could tell you guys have a really strong relationship, and to daddy’s girls. And congratulations to this next chapter in your life and thanks for being an amazing dad.”
The bride’s cousin captioned the clip: “I can’t believe this actually happened. Camila Cabello met my cousin Kelly at a hotel bar and then came to her wedding in Iowa the next day to sing her father daughter dance song. It was one of the most magical moments I have ever witnessed! She was so kind and made this wedding one for the books.”
