Val Chmerkovskiy knew Jenna Johnson was "the one" when he saw how she interacted with her family.
The 32-year-old professional dancer revealed earlier this week that he had popped the question to his fellow ‘Dancing With the Stars’ co-star Jenna during their trip to Venice, Italy, and has now gushed over the first time he realised she was the woman he wanted to marry.
Speaking to Us Weekly magazine, he said: "I knew Jenna was the one when I saw how close she is with her family and how she interacts with her nieces and nephews. Family is everything to me and I can’t wait for us to build one together."
Jenna, 24, revealed on Thursday (14.06.18) that Val had asked for her hand in marriage during their recent trip to the European country, after she uploaded a photo of the romantic moment to social media.
She captioned the post: "I knew the moment I met you, you were the man of my dreams and I wanted to be with you forever. Babychka Мой любовь thank you for making my fairytale come true today! Cannot believe I get to call you my FIANCÉ!!!! #engaged (sic)"
And Jenna wasn’t the only one who wanted to share her happy news with the world as Val also shared the same image on his own account with the sweet caption that read: "I can’t wait to make you my wife (sic)."
Val later revealed Jenna had "changed his life".
He said: "My life has changed because of her and I find myself to be the best version of myself that I’ve ever been."
Val and Jenna started dating in 2015 and went public with their relationship in 2017.
The heartthrob previously dated Amber Rose.
