Tyrese Gibson’s new wife has reportedly been identified as Samantha Lee.
The 38-year-old actor – who has nine-year-old daughter Shayla with ex-wife Norma – secretly tied the knot on Valentine’s Day (14.02.17) to a woman whose identity remained a mystery to the public, and revealed the happy news through a heart-warming Instagram video on Tuesday (28.02.17).
Now TMZ.com reports the woman who stole the heart of the ‘Furious 7’ actor is Samantha Lee, a woman from New Jersey who received a Master’s degree in social work from the University of Georgia.
According to the publication, Samantha uses her degree to help fight sex and human trafficking, as well as campaigning to provide counselling for inmates. She has also reportedly handled cases for the Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS) in Georgia.
TMZ claims the woman – whose age remains unknown – is accomplished and well paid in her profession, stating "Samantha lives comfortably on a hefty salary."
Sources close to the pair say they met after Tyrese posted an open letter to his "wife of the future" in 2015, and were put in touch through mutual friends.
Since posting the video announcing his marriage, the hunky star took to the photo-sharing app once again to post a lengthy post about how he had hoped to keep the big news a secret, but that he was thankful for the kind messages and prayers from his followers.
Alongside a picture of his wife’s diamond ring, he wrote: "So many people give a lot of power to "The Ring" as a man I had to wait till I truly truly felt like my WORDS and my FEET would walk in the same direction as my HEART … Not to worry I won’t be updating you guys on every detail and every aspect of our life … We tried to keep this all a secret and it somehow got out there so we just wanted to share the blessed news ourselves … Our way … during our pre-martial session Pastor Creflo Dollar said Don’t make the mistake that others make thinking #so much about the future that you lose focus of the gift the present, be patient and present in love….
