Tyra Banks slashes price of LA home

Tyra Banks has slashed the price of her Beverly Hills mansion.
The former ‘America’s Next Top Model’ host has shaved over $1 million off the asking price of her Los Angeles home, which she first listed for $7.75 million in September, after it failed to sell.
TMZ reports that Tyra’s Spanish-style house – which was built in 1926, has four bedrooms and measures 6,000 square feet – is now on sale for $6.5 million.
Tyra bought the home in 2004 for $3.085 million, and spent approximately $2 million renovating it but the supermodel decided to sell after finding another property she loved in Malibu.
She said: "I was not looking for another home until I discovered a property in the Malibu hills through a friend. The decision to move was a difficult one."
Last year Tyra put her two-bedroom apartment in Nolita, New York, on the market for $3.8 million.
A spokesman for the star said: "Tyra believes Nolita is one of the most fun, immersive, electric, trendy areas and loved living amongst the best new restaurants and shops."
The TV presenter was said to have sold up because she hadn’t been spending as much time as she would like in the abode due to her work commitments.
Earlier this year Tyra, 42 and her partner Erik Asla welcomed their first child, son York, via surrogate.
Tyra wrote on Instagram: "The best present we worked and prayed so hard for is finally here. He’s got my fingers and big eyes and his daddy Erik’s mouth and chin.
"As we thank the angel of a woman that carried our miracle baby boy for us, we pray for everyone who struggles to reach this joyous milestone. York Banks Asla, welcome to the world. (sic)"
