Tyne Daly to star in Spider-Man Homecoming

Tyne Daly has joined the cast of ‘Spider-Man Homecoming’.
The 70-year-old actress, who is most famous for starring in crime series ‘Cagney & Lacey’ from 1982 to 1988, is set to star in the forthcoming superhero blockbuster reboot although her role is being kept under wraps.
Daly is the latest person to join the star-studded cast of the Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios movie which sees Tom Holland in his standalone outing as Peter Parker and his webslinger alter ego following his appearance in ‘Captain America: Civil War’.
Stand-up comedian Hannibal Buress has also signed up for the film, joining Donald Glover and Martin Starr as well as actor Logan Marshall-Green.
The plot sees Michael Keaton portraying the main antagonist The Vulture and Spider-Man supported by Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man.
The impressive ensemble cast is completed by Zendaya, Michael Barbieri, Kenneth Choi, Tony Revolori, Marisa Tomei, Martin Starr.
Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal are overseeing the film for Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios under both companies deal, in conjunction with Walt Disney Company, to share the rights superhero character.
‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ is to focus on Parker’s time at high school and the roots of the character. It is scheduled for a July 2017 release.
Meanwhile, Daly most recently appeared with Sally Field ‘My Name Is Doris’ and co-stars with Brie Larson and Donald Sutherland in ‘Basmati Blues’.
