Alan Davies’ marriage inspires Creek role

Alan Davies' marriage inspired the new series of 'Jonathan Creek'.
The crime-solving drama will return for a new series on BBC One this week and Alan - who married children's book author Katie Maskell in 2007 - says art may have imitated life as his titular detective is married in the latest episodes.
He said: "The fact he's married may be tied to the fact that I'm married. It always said something about Creek that he'd be completely withdrawn from society and other people. Now it says something about him that he's re-entered the atmosphere and is able to sustain a relationship. You couldn't just leave him in the windmill for ever, making up tricks."
Meanwhile, Alan - who first began playing Jonathan Creek 17 years ago - insists he isn't worried about the show competing against 'Sherlock', BBC's hit modern day interpretation of Sherlock Holmes.
He explained: "[Writer] David Renwick is the world's biggest Sherlock Holmes fan - though probably more the original [Arthur] Conan Doyle version - but he'll never pander to whatever is in vogue.
"He won't watch 'Sherlock' and think, 'Oh, that's the kind of thing they want now, where it's all fast-paced and groovy and everyone's good-looking, so we'd better make Creek like that.' He'd rather think, 'Right, what are they doing this year? We can take the piss out of that and be back again next year.' "

Sam Faiers: Ollie Locke is a ‘friend for life’

Sam Faiers insists there are no romantic feelings between her and Ollie Locke.
'The Only Way Is Essex' star has spoken about the budding romance that started in the 'Celebrity Big Brother' house in January this year, saying she and the former 'Made in Chelsea' hunk are now just friends.
Quizzed whether she would invite Ollie to her sister Billie Faiers' wedding as her date, Sam told Britain's OK! magazine: "I very much doubt Ollie will be my plus one. I see him more as a friend for life. I would like a plus one for the wedding, though."
Sam was seen getting cosy with the 'Made in Chelsea' star inside the 'Celebrity Big Brother' house, with Ollie admitting he has a "slightly inappropriate crush" on her.
The two have yet to confirm they are in a relationship after the series ended, with Sam revealing they "haven't really spoken about it yet".
Sam also slammed rumours Ollie had cheated on her.
The reality star said: "How random was that story?! Ollie and I haven't even kissed. We were close in the house and that's it."
Although Ollie looked smitten with the 'TOWIE' star on the Channel 5 reality show, Sam, 23, insists that there is no romance blooming between them.
She revealed: "We both have a soft spot for each other but we aren't more than friends."

Cheryl Cole offered £2 million for X Factor return

Cheryl Cole has been offered £2 million to rejoin 'The X Factor' judging panel.
The 30-year-old singer looks set to return to the show, replacing Nicole Scherzinger, and boss Simon Cowell, who is also returning to the panel, is reportedly offering her more money to try and persuade her to come back.
A source told heat magazine: "She wants to perform her new material on 'The X Factor' and she knows it's the best way to get her music heard.
"Simon feels like 'The X Factor' needs to turn a page, forget how bad it was last year and boost ratings again - he thinks he and Cheryl can do that."
Simon is also said to be giving Cheryl access to his private jet and unlimited funds for her TV wardrobe.
Cheryl, who was axed from the US version of 'The X Factor' in May 2011, last appeared on the UK show in 2010 and was paid £1.5 million.
Simon recently insisted her decision whether or not to come back has never been "about the money" but he's determined to make the show as popular as it was in 2010, which saw the birth of One Direction, and feels he needs Cheryl.
He said: "Of course I'd like her back on. It's all about whether she wants to do it, whether she can deal with the pressure."
The pair recently met up to discuss her return and he said: "I thought she looked and sounded the best I've seen in years."
Last week Cheryl posted a photograph of herself and Simon, 54, on Twitter, teasing a possible return to 'The X Factor'.

Prime Suspect prequel in the works

'Prime Suspect' is set to return for a prequel.
The long-running crime drama, which starred Dame Helen Mirren as Detective Inspector Jane Tennison, will return to TV screens - but the Oscar-winning actress won't be part of the new project.
The show's creator Lynda La Plante has confirmed plans for a prequel with a new actress set to play a younger version of Jane, the formidable police detective who struggled with alcoholism.
Lynda broke the news on ITV's 'This Morning' today (18.02.14), saying: "At an event, a big book signing, a fan came up to me and she said, 'Where did Tennison get that aloof coldness from? What did she do when she was young?'
"It sat in my head so I am coming out with Tennison, back in the '70s, '80s ... how she became a DCI."
Lynda says she is excited to find a new actress to portray Jane Tennison, a role which earned Helen, 68, numerous BAFTA and Emmy Award wins.
She enthused: "What's going to be really exciting is to hunt for a star."
The crime writer also paid tribute to Helen, who was awarded the prestigious BAFTA Fellowship Award at the British Academy Film Awards on Sunday (16.02.14).
Lynda added: "Her depth as an actress is astonishing. It was wonderful to watch her really bring that character to life."
'Prime Suspect' aired 15 feature-length episodes between 1991 and 2006.

Sam Faiers ‘still not 100 per cent’

Sam Faiers is still "not 100 per cent".
The 23-year-old beauty was rushed to hospital due to a mystery illness while in the 'Celebrity Big Brother' house last month and she says doctors still haven't been able to diagnose what is wrong with her.
Sam said: "I'm better than I was but I'm still not 100 per cent. My immune system is down at the moment so I'm picking up every bug going.
"I'm still having tests done. I'm going to hospital in a few days to have a colonoscopy and they should be able to tell me what it is after that.
"I think I've had about nine blood tests, a CT scan and an ultrasound. They've been checking everything from my blood-sugar levels to whether I have anaemia. My bowels are swollen and so are my intestines."
Despite being ill for some time now, 'The Only Way is Essex' star says her symptoms aren't too severe.
She added to Britain's OK! magazine: "Whatever I have, the doctors have told me it's treatable and the worst-case scenario is I'd have to make some changes to my diet. It might even just be a really nasty virus."
Sam has lost a stone-and-a-half (21 pounds) due to the illness and reveals her mother is nursing her back to health.
She said: "I've been a recluse at my mum's house for the past few weeks. She's been trying to fatten me up with roast dinners, shepherd's pie, pasta - all my favourites."

Claudia Winkleman loves filming Sewing Bee

Claudia Winkleman loves filming 'The Great British Sewing Bee'.
The 42-year-old TV presenter has recently finished filming the second series of the BBC Two competition and admits the cast and crew all have so much fun making the programme that it doesn't matter if it doesn't get good ratings.
She said: "The camaraderie on any film crew is key. I shouldn't say this but it doesn't matter what goes out. I hope it's fine and I hope to continue to have a job but if I don't, I don't."
The 'Strictly Come Dancing' presenter hosts the programme, which sees 10 amateur stitchers battle against each other in challenges judged by Savile Row tailor Patrick Grant and sewing teacher Mary Martin.
She added: "The key with all these things is that the crew, the hair and make-up, and the sewers all cry with laughter all day."
Despite admitting that she loves her sleep and finds it difficult to get out of bed and go to work in the mornings, Claudia says that she loves being a part of 'Strictly Come Dancing' and gets consumed by the drama of it.
She told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "When I'm doing Strictly, there's nothing else. I'm the colour of George Hamilton and I'm obsessed by fleckerls, the signature move in the Viennese waltz, but then a week after Strictly's done, I can't tell you who's won."
'The Great British Sewing Bee' returns to BBC Two tonight (18.02.14)

Helen Flanagan: Big love to Luisa Zissman

Helen Flanagan has "big love" for Luisa Zissman.
The former 'Coronation Street' actress and 'Celebrity Big Brother' star have had choice words for each other in recent weeks after Helen branded Luisa's steamy actions on the Channel 5 reality show unladylike.
Luisa hit back by claiming her breasts were better than the actress', but Helen is now hoping to clear the air.
She explained to Nuts magazine: "Well, for the record, she has beautiful boobs. Haha! And I never said she wasn't classy.
"I think we're two really headstrong women. I regret my tweet saying that some of her behaviour was not ladylike. It's not nice to judge someone and I'm a girl's girl. I don't like to be negative to any women. So, big love to Luisa."
And the 23-year-old beauty would even like to spend some time with Luisa, 26, so they can bond.
Quizzed who she'd love to share a road trip with, Helen said: "Kelly Brook would be good as I admire her. She's a lovely lady and is always very nice to me - we get on really well. Then, of course, my crush Leonardo DiCaprio. Finally, Luisa, so we could clear the air."
Helen also revealed the reason she dyed her hair red recently.
The former blonde said: "I wanted a change. I was blonde for quite a long time and wanted to change my image a bit. I was the blonde in the jungle. New Year, fresh start. I feel sexier with red hair. It suits my personality, I'm quite passionate and fiery."

Billie Faiers gets engaged

Billie Faiers has got engaged.
'The Only Way is Essex' star, who is expecting her first child with Greg Shepherd, has revealed she will marry the ticket broker after he popped the question during a holiday in the Maldives last month.
Billie told Britain's OK! magazine: "He told me on the second night of our holiday that the hotel manager had arranged for us to watch the sunset on one of the sandbanks in the ocean.
"I had no idea he was going to propose! Even when we got there and I saw two chairs with a bottle of champagne, I didn't suspect a thing."
The 24-year-old reality star - who is 20 weeks pregnant - said yes straightaway even though she wasn't expecting the proposal.
She added: "I took one look at that ring and said yes. I really couldn't believe it. We'd spoken about marriage but I thought he'd wait until after the baby was born to propose."
Billie's proposal was made all the more special as Greg popped the question with a stunning diamond ring he had made especially for her.
She said: "He got it designed especially for me by a jeweller in Hatton Garden. The centre diamond is so big. It's a five-carat stone with two smaller diamonds either side of a platinum band. I couldn't be happier with it."
