Susanna Reid: I feel like I’ve known Ben Shephard forever

Susanna Reid feels like she's known Ben Shephard her whole life.
The 43-year-old TV presenter will work alongside the former 'GMTV' host when they front ITV's new breakfast show, 'Good Morning Britain', from next week, and Susanna says they've hit it off already.
She explained: "I didn't know Ben but I didn't feel nervous meeting him because he's such a familiar face having presented 'GMTV' and been such a regular on television. It felt like I'd known him all my life."
The former 'BBC Breakfast' star has even taken it upon herself to get to know Ben, as well as her fellow 'Good Morning Britain' anchors Sean Fletcher and Charlotte Hawkins, by arranging casual lunches in order to create a bond among them.
She told Radio Times magazine: "I like to socialise with the people I work with and really get to know them.
"The last couple of weeks have been about having lunch with Ben Shephard and Charlotte Hawkins. I'm going out with Charlie on Thursday. I definitely like to be friends with the people I work with.
"First and foremost, you need to trust each other. When the proverbial hits the fan, you need to know the other person has your back and the other person needs to know the same about you."

Ricky Wilson hasn’t been confirmed for The Voice return

Ricky Wilson hasn't been approached about doing 'The Voice' again.
The Kaiser Chiefs frontman admits he has yet to receive a phone call from BBC bosses about reprising his judging role on the singing competition since his fellow mentor Kylie Minogue confirmed she won't be returning for another series.
He told The Sun newspaper: "I haven't been asked yet, for a start. People keep telling me rumours of who might join the panel and I'm not sure there'd be a space for me. It would definitely depend on the coaches."
Should Ricky return to the show, he would find it tough without the support of Kylie - who has quit to concentrate on her music career - and long-standing judges Sir Tom Jones and will.i.am.
He said: "It would be weird doing it without Kylie. She helped get me over the edge. Kylie, Tom Jones and will.i.am were a huge part of the experience. If I do it again I will definitely miss her. I'm due to have lunch with 'The Voice' bosses at some point."
The 'I Predict a Riot' hitmaker is returning to the stage with the Kaiser Chiefs in February 2015 and says he understands why Kylie felt the need to prioritise her tour.
Ricky said: "Touring for us is different - my preparation is a couple of beers, then I run on. There are less costume changes at a Kaiser Chiefs gig than a Kylie one. And a hell of a lot less feather boas!"

Coronation Street stars get new contracts

'Coronation Street' has signed almost half of its cast to new contracts.
The ITV soap is determined to keep the services of its best-loved stars, following the departures of the likes Michelle Keegan, and has handed new 12-month contracts to 14 actors and actresses including Kate Ford (Tracy Barlow), Alan Halsall (Tyrone Dobbs) and Ryan Thomas (Jason Grimshaw).
Other stars who have been given pay rises include Tisha Merry (Steph Britton), Samia Ghadie (Maria Connor), Sam Aston (Chesney Brown) and Katie McGlynn (Sinead Tinker).
A source told The Sun newspaper: "There has been a lot of change at 'Corrie' and the bosses were determined not to lose more people. But everyone was surprised when they decided to renew 14 contracts at once. It was quite a dramatic move, and reflects how keen they are to secure a host of cast members who they see as real assets."
Brunette beauty Samia - along with Sam and Katie - have even been promised exciting new storylines after being guaranteed a minimum amount of airtime.
Bosses were particularly eager to keep Samia on board following Michelle Keegan's departure.
The source added: "The bosses were especially keen to keep Samia. Maria is popular and, after Michelle's exit, they don't want to lose any more young female stars."
'Corrie' has been rocked by a string of stars quitting in the last year, including Michelle, Michelle Collins and Chris Gascoyne.

Mark Wright to have Vegas stag party

Mark Wright will be holding his stag party in Las Vegas next year.
The 27-year-old TV personality is planning on celebrating his last days of being a bachelor with his friends in the gambling capital before he ties the knot with Michelle Keegan - who he proposed to in Dubai last year.
One definite for the American trip is Mark's former 'The Only Way Is Essex' co-star James 'Arg' Argent who is looking forward to the "great holiday".
Arg exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "It will be in Las Vegas. It will be a great holiday and it will be next year."
Although the destination is confirmed, Mark and Arg are yet to finalise any specific details for the stag trip.
Quizzed about highlights of the break, Arg explained: "Nothing lined up, it's too early days, it's too far away."
Arg is so pleased his good friend Mark is settling down with 'Coronation Street' actress Michelle - who he last saw at the charity boxing match between Mark's cousin Elliot Wright and Lewis Bloor - because she is such a lovely girl.
The 'TOWIE' regular said: "I've met Michelle, she's been around the house, she's lovely. Very, very down to earth. She's a lovely girl. The last time I saw Michelle was the night me and Mark watched Elliot fight in the boxing match."

Simon Cowell still munches on ‘special carrots’

Simon Cowell still has "special carrots" flown in for him to munch on the set of 'Britain's Got Talent'.
Fellow 'BGT' judge David Walliams has revealed the 54-year-old music mogul is once again insisting on having a constant supply of organic carrots flown in specially from Singapore for him to nibble on whenever he is filming,
Meanwhile, David and the other judges Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon have to settle for "normal" vegetables to keep their hunger at bay.
When quizzed on what's in Simon's dressing room, David said: "Simon's got his menthol cigarettes and he's got special carrots - we have normal carrots, but he has special carrots, they're like organic carrots and they've got bits of green on the end like Bugs Bunny's.
"And he's got a really disgusting mouthwash, which I've actually tasted, and it makes your breath a lot worse than it was before."
David, 42, also joked that Simon has become more "cocky" after having his first child, baby Eric, with his girlfriend Lauren Silverman.
He quipped: "Simon's ego gets worse every year! This year was the hardest because he was showing off a lot, because he got a woman pregnant. He managed to impregnate somebody and we were all shocked, and he was very cocky about the whole thing. He was really, really cocky this year and he wouldn't take any of my lip!"
'Britain's Got More Talent' host Stephen Mulhern let slip Simon's acquired taste for the special carrots last year.
Simon, 54, insists on only eating the orange vegetables from Singapore because he thinks they are good for his skin and general health.

Michael Le Vell completes rehab

Michael Le Vell has checked out of rehab.
The 'Coronation Street' star left The Priory clinic near Hale in Greater Manchester yesterday (20.04.14) after completing his three-week stint for alcoholism.
He is believed to have told friends: "I am winning my battle with the booze."
However, the 49-year-old actor has reportedly decided not to reprise his role as mechanic Kevin Webster in the ITV soap for the time being as he wants to spend quality time with his girlfriend Louise Gibbons.
A source told The Sunday Mirror newspaper: "Mike is in a much stronger place. Being in rehab has made him reassess his life.
"He is already fitter and mentally stronger after seeking the extra support. The past few weeks have really helped but he knows he still has a long road ahead of him.
"He's taking his recovery day-by-day and now he's out he knows he needs to be more determined than ever."
Michael sought professional help after he admitted he had turned to cocaine in the run up to his child abuse trial in September, for which he was cleared of all charges.
The star rejoined 'Coronation Street' earlier this year, before being written out again to complete his treatment.

Michelle Heaton christens son

Michelle Heaton has christened her baby son.
The Liberty X singer and her husband Hugh Hanley took their seven-week-old son Aaron Jay to the holy mass at Ballyroan Church in Dublin, Ireland, on Sunday (20.04.14).
The 34-year-old singer - who also christened her two-year-old daughter Faith at the same church in 2012 - took to Twitter yesterday to share an adorable snap of her bundle of joy in the car, wearing his long christening gown.
She accompanied the picture with: "Getting AJ into his car seat with his christening gown on was challenging to say the least ! Lol xx (sic)".
Earlier this month, the brunette beauty was left fearing for her baby's life after he contracted viral meningitis and was rushed to hospital for emergency care.
She said at the time: "The last 24 hours has been the worst and scariest in my life."
The tiny tot's conditioned improved and he was allowed to return home shortly afterwards, but Michelle won't know if he'll suffer long-term complications until he's a bit older.
She said: "Our beautiful baby boy Aaron Jay Hanley is home now and we couldnt be happier. It has been hell, I'm not going lie, and only time will tell if Aaron has been physically or mentally effected with having had viral meningitis.
"But the chances are slight so we just pray he will be one of the lucky ones!"

EastEnders cast in the dark over Lucy’s killer

'EastEnders' cast members have been trying to figure out who killed Lucy Beale.
The 20-year-old businesswoman, played by Hetti Bywater, was found dead in Friday's episode (18.04.14) and only four people from the BBC One soap's production team know the identity of the killer, leaving the cast guessing who brutally murdered her.
Producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins said: "The killer is known by myself and three other people [in the production team]. When they are revealed, we don't want everyone to be go, 'Oh, I never guessed that'. We want everyone to go, 'Oh, that makes sense, oh my God, that's upsetting."
Jacqueline Jossa, who plays Lauren Branning in the soap, said the cast have "no clue" who the killer is and censored scripts are being passed around.
She said: "I kind of want it to be me, because it would be cool, but I don't think it is now. So I'm a bit gutted. She [Lauren] doesn't really have a reason."
Laurie Brett, who plays Jane Beale, the ex-wife of Lucy's father Ian, insists she's given up trying to work out who the killer is.
She said: "I have no idea. I've stopped kinda trying to guess, it's one of those things you could start to tie yourself in knots about.
"I've stopped trying to work it out. I'm so confident I'm going to have the, 'Oh my God' moments, also I've finished filming so I'm not getting anymore of the scripts."
Dominic is enjoying plotting the murder on a "big scale" and claims Adam Woodyatt, who plays Lucy's father Ian Beale, gives the "performance of his life" as the emotional scenes unfold.
Adam insists he would hate to find out Ian had murdered his own daughter, after the pair had an argument about her taking cocaine before she went missing.
He said: "I think I'd be having a very long chat with Dom if it was me. But I've got plausible motives for about seven members of the cast."

Samia Ghadie talks Maria Connor’s ‘tricky’ Corrie meltdown

Samia Ghadie has "found it tricky" to see her character take a darker turn.
The soap star plays Maria Connor in the show, and the fictional hairdresser has suffered a meltdown after catching her boyfriend Marcus Dent (Charlie Condou) with Todd Grimshaw (Bruno Langley).
Asked about the change, Samia told the Daily Mirror newspaper's We Love TV magazine: "I have found it tricky, to be honest, because Maria is usually so nice. She has always been a victim.
"But I can understand why she's had a breakdown - years ago she had a stillbirth, her husband Liam was murdered and then she got engaged to his killer.
"I think the situation with Marcus was the straw that broke the camel's back."
Maria's downward spiral has seen her get close to former lover Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall), convincing her they should be together as she stalks him and sends messages - which she tricks him into believing are from his abusive ex Kirsty Soames (Natalie Gumede).
Asked if her character has had a breakdown, Samia responded: "Yes. There's no other explanation for it.
"In her head it makes sense that Tyrone loves her and if they hadn't split up known of this would have happened ... It might be true but you can't go back in time, can you?
"She thought she had it all with Marcus. Now her world has fallen apart and she's looking back at all the good times."
