Conchita Wurst tipped for Celebrity Big Brother

Conchita Wurst is tipped to appear on 'Celebrity Big Brother'.
The Eurovision Song Contest winner, who has become an overnight star following her victory in the singing competition on Saturday (10.05.14), could be in line for a spot on the next series of the Channel 5 reality show.
The bearded drag queen made headlines as she sealed a Eurovision victory for Austria, and it now looks as though she may join the likes of 'Benefits Street' star White Dee in the famous reality TV house.
A spokesperson for betting form Ladbrokes said: "The odds firmly suggest we'll be seeing more of Conchita and it looks like she'll be sexing up the next series. Her arrival in the house is sure to see ratings rocket."
The flamboyant star has received criticism from conservative politicians in European countries such as Russia - known for its anti-gay propaganda law - with one branding her Eurovision victory "the end of Europe".
Conchita, who sang 'Rise Like a Phoenix', dedicated her victory to equal rights.
She said: "This night is dedicated to everyone who believes in a future of peace and freedom. We are unity and we are unstoppable.
"I share the opinion that this was not a victory just for me but for the people who believe in a future that works without discrimination and is based on tolerance and respect. This transcends borders."

Caroline Aherne battles lung cancer

Caroline Aherne is battling with lung cancer.
The 'Royle Family' star, who played chain-smoking Denise Royle in the hit comedy, has been quietly recovering from treatment for the disease after previously fighting off both bladder and eye cancer.
Caroline, 50, has decided to go public with her secret illness in order to help raise £3.4 million to improve care for cancer patients in Manchester, where she was treated.
The actress-and-writer and her brother, Patrick, were both born with retinal cancer, leaving her near-blind in one eye. She later struggled with bladder cancer.
Caroline said: "I've had cancer and my brother's had cancer and we know how it affects people.
"We're lucky in Manchester to have some of the best bits of cancer care -- and the last thing I want to do is knock the fantastic work that goes on in this city.
"It's brilliant that all these big institutions want to make cancer care better for Manchester people, but even the best doctors, nurses and managers on earth aren't going to be able to understand what needs improving unless people affected by cancer in Manchester get involved and tell them what needs to change."
The 'Mrs Merton' star has now backed the Macmillan Cancer Improvement Partnership, which will seek to bring together doctors, hospitals, patients and the council to improve cancer care in Manchester.
She added: "There are too many stories about bad communication leading to patients waiting too long and feeling ignored and abandoned and that same bad communication is contributing to poor statistics on cancer.
"The partnership needs people like us to start explaining to all the institutions what needs changing so that these big, complex organisations can get together to make the improvements."

Matt LeBlanc admits his weight gain ‘stung’ at times

Matt LeBlanc admits the 'Episodes' storyline about his weight gain was based on the reality which "stung".
The former 'Friends' star recalls the moment he was caught off-guard while relaxing poolside when a photographer took images of him which were later published and he admits these pictures hurt his feelings.
He explained to The Sun newspaper: "The stuff we did last year [on Episodes] about me getting overweight -- that all really happened.
"I was at a hotel, and I was overweight. I was lying on a chaise, and I thought it was all private.
"This guy was in the pool and he had a gym bag and a two-year-old son with him.
"He picks his son out of the water, sits him on the edge of the pool, opens his gym bag, takes out his camera and fires across the pool at me. It was on the front page of the National Enquirer the next day.
"The headline was 'Beached Male'. That stung a little."
Matt's Friends co-stars, which includes Lisa Kudrow, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer, love 'Epiosdes' because it pokes fun at him.
He added: "The only one they were making fun of was me so everyone else came out smelling of roses -- they all thought it was really funny."

Diana Vickers not surprised by I Can’t Sing axe

Diana Vickers isn't surprised 'The X Factor' musical 'I Can't Sing' has been axed.
The former 'X Factor' contestant, who shot to fame on the talent show in 2008, has now become a West End actress herself and admits she didn't see 'I Can't Sing' at the London Palladium and isn't shocked it closed on Saturday (10.05.14) after just two months.
She told BANG Showbiz: "I've not seen it but it's a shame it's closed. Once you've done that and been in it, I don't think I'd really want to go back [and watch the musical].
"New shows which go into theatres are not doing their time. People don't really have a lot of money. I don't think viewers of 'The X Factor' could afford to pay for a ticket, it can be quite expensive."
'I Can't Sing' received positive reviews for its satirical take on 'The X Factor' and its stars, including Simon - played by Nigel Harman - Cheryl Cole, Louis Walsh and host Dermot O'Leary.
Diana, 22, made her professional acting debut in the West End production of Jim Cartwright's 'The Rise and Fall of Little Voice' in 2009 and recently landed a part in ' The Duck House', starring Ben Miller, at London's Vaudeville Theatre, which was nominated for a Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Comedy this year.
The singer - who is promoting National Smile Month, which takes place between May 19 and June 19 - said: "Duck House was a new play and no-one even knew the script and we managed to do our run and break even, that was really good.
"It's never nice to hear when a theatre show closes and doesn't manage to stand the test of time."
Diana Vickers is the face of Wrigley's Extra White Bubblemint campaign for National Smile Month 2014, encouraging people to chew sugarfree gum for a clean and healthy smile.

Spencer Matthews: Stephanie fling meant nothing

Spencer Matthew insists his recent fling with Stephanie Pratt meant nothing.
The reality TV lothario incurred the wrath of his current love interest Emma Miller in last week's episode of 'Made in Chelsea' after it emerged he had locked lips with his American ex-girlfriend during a trip to Venice, but Spencer is adamant the tryst was no big deal.
He told new! magazine: "Stephanie and I were really drunk and we had a bit of fun. It's hilarious. The kiss didn't mean anything. We didn't hook up behind Emma's back because I still fancy Steph, we hooked up because I was so drunk I couldn't see."
Despite feeling humiliated by Spencer, Emma admits they are once again on friendly terms.
She said: "He apologised. At the moment we're still enjoying hanging out. We've always been more than just friends but you have to be careful if you want to be an official girlfriend with him. You have to be really sure."
Meanwhile, Emma thinks former 'The Hills' star Stephanie is more at fault for the drunken moment.
She added: "I felt Stephanie had come in with a game plan. She said he was awful and he cheated on his girlfriends and asked what I saw in him, then all of a sudden she's in bed with him. Maybe she was saying all that stuff to put me off."

Josh Hartnett is ‘full of mystery’ in Penny Dreadful

Josh Hartnett's 'Penny Dreadful' character is "full of mystery".
The 35-year-old actor rose to fame in blockbuster films such as 'Pearl Harbour' and 'Black Hawk Down' but later left Hollywood to pursue grittier roles, and he's now set to star in the new horror series based in 19th Century London.
He said: "I play Ethan Chandler, the only American in the piece, and you don't really know why he's there in the beginning and he's full of mystery, and then after the first couple of episodes you want to ask him why he's sticking around, because so many supernatural things are happening."
The series is named after a form of British fiction from the era, which focused on lurid and sensational subjects, and features a number of characters from classic fiction including Dracula, Dorian Gray and Frankenstein, but Josh claims little is known about Ethan until late in the first season.
Speaking on 'This Morning' earlier today (11.05.14), he said: "What's really nice about this character is you don't really know anything about him, empirically, until further into the first season, which is eight episodes long. So that's eight hours. I've never done anything like this before."
'Penny Dreadful' - which also stars Billie Piper, Eva Green and Timothy Dalton - starts on May 20 at 9pm on Sky Atlantic.

Lindsey Coulson struggles with EastEnders storyline

Lindsey Coulson finds it hard to "detach" from her 'EastEnders' character.
The 53-year-old actress plays Carol Jackson - who is currently battling breast cancer - in the BBC One soap and has admitted she finds it hard to disconnect from the role when she's not filming.
Lindsey said: "At first ... at Christmas, when I actually found out the diagnosis and played all of that stuff, I did find it hard to detach.
"In fact, I started a running group. I started running for six weeks. I don't like running, but I needed to know that I actually am healthy and I sort of detached slightly."
Lindsey - who first joined the soap in 1993, but has taken several breaks since - found it difficult to research her current storyline as she wanted to include the stories of all the breast cancer sufferers she spoke to.
She told ITV's 'This Morning' earlier today (12.05.14): "The thing about doing a breast cancer story is, everyone has a story to tell about breast cancer, and at first it was really overwhelming because I wanted to get the story right for so many people, because I sat and talked with so many women.
"I wanted to show the vulnerability and the ugliness of it and I think the script writers have done that."
Despite her character experiencing such emotional turmoil, Lindsey admits she was thrilled to be reunited with Michael French, who returned as her long-term love interest David Wicks last year.
She added: "He makes me work very well, actually. It's like a tennis match with Michael. Without doing anything the history is just kind of telling the story."

Rolf Harris ‘attacked girl with daughter in room’

Rolf Harris allegedly assaulted a teenage girl while his daughter was in the room, a court has heard.
The former children's TV presenter - who denies 12 counts of assault against the woman and three other girls between 1968 and and 1986 - has been accused of abusing the unidentified female, who was friends with his daughter Bindi, from the age of 13 at his home, as well as hers, and on holiday.
The woman - now 40 - gave evidence from behind a screen at Southwark Crown Court today (12.05.14), claiming Rolf, 84, performed a sex act on her at his home in Bray, Berkshire, and didn't seem troubled by the fact Bindi was asleep nearby.
The claimant also described other instances of abuse by the former 'Animal Hospital' host, alleging he once fondled his penis in front of her. She described the Australian star's anatomy as "small ... very, very small".
Rolf is also accused of inappropriately hugging and tickling the then-teenager and was branded "creepy" in court.
The woman said: "The way he hugged you and tickled you all over was cringey. I never liked it. Rolf would fold himself around you. He was a big man. He would fold you in his arms and tickle you up and down your body."
Quizzed why she never told Rolf's daughter Bindi or his wife Alwen Hughes about the attack, the claimant said: "I was shocked and panicked by it. I didn't know what to do. I sat on the end of the bed in a state of shock, really."
The trial continues.

Brad Pitt to star in True Detective?

Brad Pitt is close to landing a part on 'True Detective'.
The 'World War Z' actor is reportedly negotiating a leading role in the second season of the crime series with TV bosses on US network HBO, taking over from Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson.
A source told the Daily Star newspaper: "Brad is already part of the HBO family and if commitments allow he will be part of the second season of 'True Detective'. The quality of the scripts means the biggest A-listers in the world want the role."
The first series of the show saw warring detectives Rust Cohle (Matthew) and Marty Hart (Woody) join forces to solve a crime, but the duo have confirmed they won't be back.
It is not yet known whether Brad would be working solo or will get an A-list partner.
Show creator Nic Pizzolatto recently told Rolling Stone magazine he's already started writing the next season, which would feature a brand new cast and mystery.
He said: "I've got three characters I love right now, and they're all unique, and neither of them is Cohle or Hart."
