Coronation Street’s Kylie Platt becomes hooked on speed

'Coronation Street's Kylie Platt is to hit rock bottom after she becomes hooked on speed.
The loud-mouthed hairdresser - played by Paula Lane - recently became embroiled in a drugs scandal when she started stealing her son Max's attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) medication as she struggled to come to terms with his recent diagnosis.
In a bid to find out if her son inherited the condition, the brunette beauty will pay a visit to Max's biological father, drug dealer, Callum.
However, things start to spiral out of control for Kylie, who used to dabble in drugs when she was younger, when bad boy Callum offers her Amphetamine.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, Paula said:"It is really great 'Coronation Street' is touching on this subject. I hope I can do it justice.
"When I first found out, I was like, 'Crikey, how can I play this out?' But Kylie has a lot of depth to her and she is always carrying a fear that she isn't good enough. She thinks everyone on the street judges her.
"She is a very vulnerable person and her life is going to start to unravel big time. This is going to be the darkest place she has ever found herself in."
Kylie resorts to desperate measures in order to hide her addiction from her husband David (Jack P. Shepherd), but the happy family is to be rocked by a huge crisis in the run up to Christmas, which will pave the way for the departure of Paula, who is going on maternity leave to have her first child.

Laura Carmichael: Downton Abbey costumes more risque next series

Laura Carmichael says her 'Downton Abbey' costumes are much more risqué this series.
The 28-year-old beauty, who stars as Lady Edith Crawley in the popular drama, has revealed viewers will be seeing a bit more of her figure in the fifth series as the costumes have been updated.
Quizzed on what the best thing about playing her character is, she said: "She has amazing storylines, like the adoption one that continues this series. Her outfits are more glamorous and risqué now. You can see calf!"
The 'Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy' actress also spoke about her relationship with her on-screen sister Lady Mary Crawley, played by Michelle Dockery, and hinted that certain revelations could see them put their differences aside.
When asked how relations are between Edith and Mary in the new series, Laura explained to Now magazine: "Still a little catty. Mary obviously doesn't know Edith has gone through this whole pregnancy, so she thinks the reason she's sad is because Michael Gregson [Charles Edwards], her lover, went missing. She's like, 'My husband's dead. Get over it.'"

Judy Murray can’t stop laughing at Strictly Come Dancing training

Judy Murray can't stop laughing during her 'Strictly Come Dancing' training.
The tennis coach - who is mother to tennis stars Andy and Jamie Murray - has revealed she's having a great time
rehearsing for the BBC One celebrity dance contest but confessed she's finding it hard to take her professional dance partner seriously.
Referring to Anton du Beke as "amazing", she told HELLO!: "He's absolutely fantastic. He's so patient and he makes me giggle all the time. I can't look at him when we're dancing or I'll just start laughing."
Judy also admitted she may not be as good on the dancefloor as her fellow contestants - who include former
professional rugby player Thom Evans, singer Pixie Lott and presenter Caroline Flack - because she's struggling to remember her routines.
Quizzed on how her training was going, she said: "It's a challenge.
"I knew it was going to be hard, but it's tougher than I thought. I found it really hard to remember the sequences of
steps. Just when I think I'm almost getting the routine, then I have to think about my heel, toes and posture."
Anton added that his partner was struggling to remember "which foot is the left one", laughing: "I'm having such a great time. Judy is hilarious."

Andrew Maxwell attacked with pint

Andrew Maxwell had a pint thrown at him for joking about Scotland's recent referendum.
The stand-up comedian has admitted he often takes his life in his hands during his gigs but insists the aggression some audience members display only adds to the atmosphere.
Speaking ahead of the Magners Greenwich Comedy Festival, which returns to the National Maritime Museum from the 24th-28th September, he exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "I got a pint thrown at my head in Edinburgh the other week.
"It was because my whole show was about the referendum and pulling apart all the reference.
"One true hero couldn't take it. It lasted five minutes.
"He throws his pint at my head and the crowd goes nuts, instantly about four people throw pints at his head.
"He then tries to backtrack and maintain he attacked me because I was rude to a midget. It's f***ing great."
The star admitted he often tries to do "weird gigs" because he is curious to see how the crowd will react.
He said: "Over the years I've deliberately done weird gigs. I recorded a live album in my hometown Dublin maximum security prison.
"Relatively speaking Greenwich has been relatively normal."
Over the years the star has been threatened with much more than a pint when his gags go wrong, and he joked people don't put enough effort into sending him death threats anymore.
He added: "People used to get local newspapers and sit down for hours on end cutting out different letters and sticking your death threat onto a piece of card.
"It's all Wi-Fi and 3G now, people can just fire off a death threat. You don't even have to put the effort in now. A noble tradition is dying and nobody seems to care!"
The Magners Greenwich Comedy Festival returns from the 24th to 28th September, with the UK's favourite bottled apple cider once again playing a key role in supporting the British comedy scene by taking headline sponsorship of the festival.
This year's line-up also features Rich Hall, Milton Jones, Nina Conti and more, with tickets starting at £15. Book your tickets at Greenwichcomedyfestival.co.uk or follow @MagnersUK to enter daily ticket competitions.

Sam Bailey names baby

Sam Bailey has named her daughter Miley Beau.
The 'X Factor' winner - who shot to fame after taking the crown on the talent show last December - and husband Craig Pearson welcomed their third child into the world earlier this month and have now revealed the tot's name, but insist the moniker isn't a tribute to 'Wrecking Ball' star Miley Cyrus.
Sam told Britain's HELLO! magazine: "I just really like the name."
The 'Skyscraper' hitmaker - who also has children Brooke, nine, and Tommy, five, with Craig - also confirmed her 'X Factor' mentor Sharon Osbourne has agreed to be Miley's godmother.
She said: "Never in a million years did I imagine I'd be having a baby whose godmother is Sharon Osbourne".
And Sam admitted she had "always" dreamed of having three children but decided not to expand her family further because she couldn't afford another.
She said: "Before 'The X Factor' we couldn't afford it.
"So I was resigned to the fact I would just have the two. Then next thing you know I find out I'm pregnant and I was like, 'Yes. I'm finally going to get my wish.' "

Brendan O’Carroll said no to Strictly Come Dancing

Brendan O'Carroll turned down the chance to have Mrs. Brown appear on 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
The 59-year-old comedian claims he was approached by the BBC to have his 'Mrs. Brown's Boys' alter-ego Agnes Brown appear on the celebrity dance contest as part of their Christmas special but decided against it.
He told BBC One's 'Sunday Morning Live': "The idea had been mooted it would be nice in the Christmas special that just once dance with Len [Goodman] and Mrs. Brown would be nice.
"It's nice to have a hybrid and a crossover between Mrs. Brown and something else but the truth of it is 'Strictly Come Dancing' doesn't need me or Mrs. Brown.
"It's a great entity in its own right. I have to protect [Mrs. Brown] from Len."
However, Brendan is looking forward to seeing his wife and on-screen daughter, Jennifer Gibney, take to the dancefloor in the upcoming series, for which she's been paired with professional dancer Tristan MacManus.
He said: "I am so, so proud. Pride in your family or pride in your partner or someone else gives you more confidence."
He added: "I am not a great dancer and not an enthusiast of dancing. I would help in any way I can and the only way I can really help is to let her know that she has all the talent and all the ability necessary to do this and all she had to is put her arms out and fly."

Dynamo announces live tour dates

Dynamo has announced the dates of his live tour.
The 31-year-old magician announced earlier this year that he would not be making another series of his 'Dynamo: Magician Impossible' series as he wanted to create his own stage show and he's now announced a number of dates in two UK cities.
He said of his decision: "After four series of Magician Impossible I was ready for a new challenge and for a long time I have wanted to take my show to the stage.
"I am hoping that like I did for magic on TV, I can reinvent the live magic show and produce something fans have never seen before.
"This something I have been working towards for the last 20 years and I can't wait to amaze audiences with what I have in store for them."

Lucy Mecklenburgh dating Gethin Jones?

Lucy Mecklenburgh is reportedly dating Gethin Jones.
The former 'The Only Way Is Essex' star is rumoured to have been on a number of dates with the television presenter in the past few months and the pair are even said to have attended the Give Me Sport magazine party in London together last month.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "They do make a lovely couple but are taking things one date at a time."
Former 'Blue Peter' presenter Gethin has remained tight lipped about his love life since his split from fiancee Katherine Jenkins in 2011 after four years of dating.
He's since been linked to actress Kelly Brook and fellow presenter Amanda Byram but has denied any romantic involvement with either of the beauties.
Meanwhile, Lucy - who was previously attached to TOWIE co-stars Mario Falcone and Mark Wright - has recently had to deny rumours she's been dating her 'Tumble' partner Billy George.
She said earlier this month: "I don't know if I was hoping to meet someone [special] on Tumble.
"Maybe if I had a big, hunky, 6ft 2in gymnast, I might. But I don't."
Billy also denied the romance, saying: "The rumours about me and Lucy are all brilliant because they are all f**king bulls**t."

Towie crew endure flight drama at Gatwick

James 'Arg' Argent, Lauren Pope and Chloe Sims were left terrified after a technical fault on their flight to Ibiza meant they were forced to turn back.
The trio - all of whom star in popular reality show 'The Only Way is Essex' - were among the cast jetting off to the Spanish island to film special episodes.
However, their flight from Gatwick airport encountered technical problems, causing Arg to text his on/off girlfriend Lydia Bright: "We were halfway from London but had to turn back because of technical s**t."
The Sun newspaper reports the drama continued when the Towie cast were in the airport, where a fellow passenger was tasered by police.
Towie star Elliott Wright explained how his girlfriend Chloe, 31, saw the incident.
He said: "There was someone screaming in the terminal and police tasered them. My Chloe said things couldn't get any worse.
"She is a nervous flyer and is beside herself."
The man at the centre of the incident was suspected of being drunk.
The TOWIE crew, meanwhile, were forced to board a coach to Luton, where they got another flight to Ibiza, arriving eight hours late.
