Barney Strange is ‘200 percent tougher’ than Bear Grylls

Barney Strange thinks he's "200 percent tougher" than Bear Grylls.
The 30-year-old paramedic from Leicestershire is currently starring on Channel 4's 'The Island with Bear Grylls' - which sees the adventurer abandon 14 men and 14 women on separate desert islands in the Pacific - and he's joked that having survived the experience, his toughness is now comparable to the show's host.
Asked to rate his toughness in comparison to Bear, Barney exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "Oh, tougher! 200 percent tougher! I'd like to know how long he'd spent on a desert island with no food!"
However, Barney was quick to acknowledge that Bear is in a league of his own when it comes to survival skills and he's happy to return to normality.
He reflected: "I felt like I've learnt a lot, but he's got years and years of experience and he's applied that in many situations. You know, I've been on a desert island for six weeks. I learnt a lot, but I'm not looking to replace Bear at the moment."
What's more, Barney confessed he was "pleasantly surprised" by Bear's humility.
He shared: "I was really pleasantly surprised by Bear. I mean, he's obviously a big celebrity and you're slightly star-struck when you meet him, he comes with a bit of an entourage.
"He was involved in giving us training before we went off to the island and he gave us a few briefs and things. And then, really, during the six weeks, we don't hear from anybody."
'The Island with Bear Grylls' continues with the Men's Island tonight at 9pm on Channel 4

Charlotte Crosby to stay on Geordie Shore ‘until the very end’

Charlotte Crosby wants to stay on 'Geordie Shore' "until the very end".
The 24-year-old reality star revealed she has no plans to leave the MTV series and can see her antics still being filmed for the show when she is a pensioner.
She said: "I honestly like to think I'd be in until the very end.
"It can be called 'Granny Shore'. And this time, when I wet myself it'll be allowed. I can wear TENA lady."
This season of 'Geordie Shore' is the first without original cast member Vicky Pattison, and though her presence in the house was missed at first, Charlotte insists her absence has now been forgotten.
She said: "At first it was really weird. She was a big character in the house, so it felt like a big loss to begin with.
"But then the drama started to unfold and it was soon forgotten about and we were back into the swing of things."
And Charlotte admitted she and her former co-star are not currently on "good terms".
She told Heat magazine: "There were a lot of articles I read where she said I was trying to copy her career, which was kind of weird because that's the last thing I'm trying to do.
"I just thought it was a bit backstabbing so I texted her and she said, 'I'd never say anything like that, my words have been twisted.'
"I've given her the benefit of the doubt but we haven't spoken much since then.
"I don't think we're on good terms. We've resolved the issue that was there, but the only time we'd feel OK with each other is after having a night out together."

Midsomer Murders returns for 18th series

'Midsomer Murders' has been recommissioned for a further six feature-length episodes.
ITV is bringing the crime drama back for an 18th series with Neil Dudgeon reprising his role as DCI John Barnaby, and fans of the crime drama will be glad to hear filming is already underway.
Jo Wright, executive producer, said: " We are back for even more episodes next year thanks to ITV, which gives us chance to explore more strange and entertaining tales of Midsomer life."
ITV drama director Steve November added: "'Midsomer Murders' is one of ITV's most enduring and successful dramas."
Joining the team this series will be new pathologist Dr. Kam Karimore - played by Manjinder Virk - who will assist Barnaby and Nelson as they tackle intricate murder mysteries in the beautiful but deadly county of Midsomer.
Storylines will include bodysnatching, competitive cycling and the sighting of UFOs over Midsomer.

Poldark star Aidan Turner moving Stateside

'Poldark' star Aidan Turner wants to move to the US.
The heartthrob actor - who plays the title role in the BBC drama - has revealed he's planning on moving to New York to be with his actress girlfriend Sarah Greene, who relocated to the city last year.
Speaking to Woman magazine, the 31-year-old actor hunk said: "I'm thinking of moving to New York soon. That's the great thing, as an actor these days you can be anywhere because a lot of meetings are on Skype. It's not like 10 or 12 years ago when all the Irish actors were in London. Now you can be in a city for reasons other than your career."
This Stateside move could be a problem for producers of 'Poldark' - currently pulling in almost 9 million viewers an episode on Sunday nights - considering the popular show is filmed in locations across Britain, including Cornwall and Gloucestershire.
BBC executives are said to be keen to secure Aidan for another five years in the role.
It doesn't look like Olivier-nominated Sarah is moving back home any time soon either, having just been cast in Harvey Weinstein's currently untitled new movie alongside Bradley Cooper and Jamie Dornan.
Speaking about life in The Big Apple, Irish star Sarah previously said: "I've always wanted to live in New York, so I jumped at the chance. I just adore this city. You never want to leave, so fingers crossed I can stay. I'm going to try to get my green card and get that process going."

Davros returns to Doctor Who

Davros is to return in the new series of 'Doctor Who'.
The evil dictator, the creator of the Time Lord's arch enemies the Daleks, is to appear in season opener 'The Magician's Apprentice' as a child, according to the Daily Mirror newspaper.
In the adventure, the Doctor - played by Peter Capaldi - travels to the Daleks' home planet Skaro and encounters Davros on the battlefield. He will then be presented with the moral decision as to whether or not murder the young Davros in order to stop him from creating the mutated monsters.
The episode is based on a famous line from Fourth Doctor Tom Baker's classic adventure 'Genesis of the Daleks' - Davros' first on-screen appearance - in which the time traveller says "if someone who knew the future pointed out a child to you and told you that child would grow up totally evil, to be a ruthless dictator who would destroy millions of lives, could you then kill that child?"
The plot sees Davros take the Doctor hostage on Skaro as he tries to save the Daleks from dying out.
Davros was last seen in 'Doctor Who' in the 2009 two-parter 'The Stolen Earth' / 'Journey's End' opposite Tenth Doctor David Tennant.
He was defeated by companion Donna Noble - played by Catherine Tate - the ending was ambiguous as to whether or not he was killed in the final battle.
'Doctor Who' - which also stars Jenna-Louise Coleman as companion Clara Oswald - returns to BBC One this autumn.
Confirmed guest stars include 'Game of Thrones' actress Maisie Williams and Rufus Hound.

Coleen Nolan’s dog has loose bladder on Loose Women

Coleen Nolan's new dog urinated on the studio floor live on 'Loose Women' today (15.04.15).
The 50-year-old TV presenter was left embarrassed when her three-legged, adopted mutt Mika got nervous in front of the cameras and took a wee.
Coleen yelled: "She's not house-trained yet!"
Fellow 'Loose Women' host Ruth Langsford shouted out: "You've disgraced your mummy."
Coleen was showing off Mika to viewers as she's just adopted the pooch from the RSPCA after taking part in ITV show 'Give A Pet A Home'.
The series sees Coleen, Julian Clary, Peter Andre, Denise Lewis, Kimberly Wyatt and Chris Kamara work with the animal charity, championing for pets to be re-homed.
Speaking about her canine friend, the former 'Celebrity Big Brother' housemate said: "It's been amazing. On the very first day when we were filming, they gave us a look round and I fell in love with (Mika), so I adopted her. I couldn't resist her, but I had to go through all the checks and all these forms."
Ruth replied: "She's the sweetest little thing, and she's so good. We've hardly heard a whisper from her this morning."
Janet Street-Porter - who was also on the 'Loose Women' panel, along with Jamelia - wasn't as complimentary of Coleen's new pet.
She said: "To me, it just looks like a furry rat."
Prompting Coleen to reply: "What do you think you look like to her!"

Jim Davidson: Drugs made me feel like Superman

Jim Davidson wanted to have "extra nostrils surgically added" to his face so he could take more cocaine.
The former 'Celebrity Big Brother' star has opened up about his past drug addictions to reveal he was so hooked on the illicit substance that he wanted extra nostrils so he could snort even more.
He shared: "I couldn't take enough. Drugs made me feel like Superman. Life was just one long, long party. I'd end up staying up for days on end, hanging out with people I didn't even know.
"All that mattered was the drugs. When I sniffed a line it gave me a huge buzz and a rush of euphoria. But as soon as that started wearing off I wanted more."
The 61-year-old comedian - who claims he and celebrities including Freddie Mercury and Kenny Everett would meet in the toilets of nightclubs such as Stringfellows in London after their shows and "get on it" - remembers looking as though he was close to death at the height of his drug abuse.
He told The Sun newspaper: "At one showbiz party I was sat at a table with my nose bleeding, looking like I was about to keel over and die, and I remember wondering why Miss World, who was a guest at the do, didn't want to talk to me."
The former 'Generation Game' host - who also spoke about his days of dealing drugs such as speed - finally realised he had to get clean after he thought about committing suicide.
He added: "I would be sat there with a nosebleed, nearly dead.
"I couldn't get out of bed, I was cancelling gigs claiming I had flu. It was like a hangover but a thousand times worse. I didn't eat for days, I was a total mess."
Jim has since founded the Care After Combat charity, which helps military veterans who have turned to drink and drugs, and thinks legalising substances such as cocaine would "ruin" Britain.

Caroline Flack confirmed as host of Love Island

Caroline Flack has been confirmed as the host of the new look 'Love Island'.
The former 'Xtra Factor' presenter will preside over a summer of romance as she fronts the new look 'Love Island' on ITV2 later this year.
She said: "I can't wait to host the revamped 'Love Island'. I was a massive fan of the original show, and I'm sure this is going to be crazy love fuelled island. I can't really think of a better way to spend a summer - here's hoping it's a scorcher!"
The 'Strictly Come Dancing' champion is to jet off to a glamorous location to bring viewers all the gossip on the fun and flirtation taking place inside the 'Love Island' villa.
The 35-year-old beauty will also interview members of the cast after they're voted off the show and forced to leave the island.
The show - which originally ran for two series between 2005 and 2006 and featured celebrities including Calum Best and Bianca Gascoigne - will see a stunning group of singletons engage in the ultimate game of love as they search for passion and romance.
However, in order to carry on living like celebrities in the luxury villa, they will not only have to win over the hearts of each other, but the voting public as well.

Jeremy Kyle to host Embarassing Bodies style show

Jeremy Kyle is to host a new 'Embarrassing Bodies" style show on ITV.
The 'Jeremy Kyle Show' presenter is to take a new direction fronting a show that helps guests with embarrassing complaints to find the right treatment for their awkward ailments.
An insider revealed: "Jeremy's used to lie detector tests and working out who slept with who but now he wants to go a bit deeper.
"He wants to help people with their health issues and knows that this could expose some interesting stories. Obviously he's not a doctor but he will have access to top medical services to help.
"It's been billed as a cross between The Jeremy Kyle Show and Embarrassing Bodies, which is quite an interesting prospect.
"The Jeremy Kyle Show attracts some colourful guests to say the least, so if Emergency Room gets similar types of people with dodgy medical conditions it will make for pretty compelling viewing.
"Some of it may be a little bit choice and not to everyone's taste but ITV are convinced it's going to be a sure-fire hit with daytime viewers."
Kyle is known for being straight-talking when it comes to his own 'Jerry Springer' type show, which he has hosted for nearly 10 years, so all eyes will be on how he deals with the deeper end of sensitive situations with patients with a range of problems such as sexually transmitted infections and other diseases.
The source added to The Sun newspaper: "Jeremy is known for being pretty harsh and doesn't tend to pull his punches, so it's debatable whether he will have the best bedside manner when dealing with people's illnesses."
ITV are now scouting for participants for the programme, which is to begin filming in the summer.
