Vincent Simone's wife wanted him to have the first dance at their wedding with another woman.
The 'Strictly Come Dancing' professional tied the knot with long-term partner Susan Duddy on July 18 and the shy bride wasn't keen on taking to the floor for the traditional dance as man and wife and instead suggested he partner up with someone else.
Vincent said: "Susan didn't want to do a choreographed first dance. She's very shy and doesn't like to be the centre of attention.
"She asked me to perform with one of my Strictly ex-partners but I said, 'No, it's our wedding, I want to dance with you.' We decided to do the normal smooch."
Susan eventually relented and they danced to
Ronan Keating's romantic track 'This I Promise You' but the bride admitted it was one of the only times she had ever danced with her spouse.
She told Britain's HELLO! magazine: "Dancing is his career and I am so used to him dancing with Flavia and the girls on Strictly. It may sound strange but Vincent and I had never really danced together."
The 36-year-old dancer was overwhelmed with emotion when he caught a glimpse of his now-wife for the first time on their wedding day.
He said: "I felt incredibly emotional and was worried I wouldn't keep it together. I couldn't look back at Susan as she walked up the aisle because I was afraid I would dissolve into tears. She looked so beautiful, really breathtaking."

Sally Dynevor "worries" about being fired from 'Coronation Street'.
The 52-year-old actress has portrayed Sally Webster since 1996 and though she feels "secure" in her job, she admits the unexpected could happen and she is always ready for the possibility her contract won't be renewed.
She said: "I can't imagine leaving 'Coronation Street' - it's the perfect job for me and there are a lot of reasons I've stayed so long.
"I get great stories - I never seem to be without things to do - and it's great for my kids, I can go home every day and be a mum.
"I feel much more secure than I probably did 10 years ago, but you just don't know how things are going to turn out, so I still worry a little about my contract being renewed every year. A new producer could come in and decide they don't like my character, who knows?"
If she did suddenly find herself out of a job in Weatherfield, Sally - who has children Phoebe, 20, Samuel, 18, and 11-year-old Hattie with husband Tim Dynevor - would "embrace" the chance to do new things.
She added to Woman magazine: "I'm a very optimistic and positive person, so if it did happen I'd go and have a great time doing other things. I'd miss everybody but I'd embrace it."

Stacey Solomon and Steve-O have split up.
The 25-year-old British singer and the 41-year-old 'Jackass' star - who met six months ago while competing on Channel 4's winter sports competition 'The Jump' - have parted ways as they found it hard to maintain a long-distance relationship, with Steve-O touring the US constantly while Stacey lives in Essex.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "'Stacey found it hard being away from Steve-O so they decided to put their relationship on hold.
"He has a huge tour in the States, as that's where his fan-base is. The relationship developed quickly and was a real whirlwind, but for the time being it's not to be."
Steve-O previously admitted he liked Stacey "right away" when they met, and the former 'X Factor' contestant was just as keen on the TV prankster, and introduced him to her children Zachary, seven, and two-year-old Leighton soon after, and even went on a mini-break to Cornwall together.
Steve-O said: "We were in Austria for six weeks together (for 'The Jump') and pretty much on the first night I was just getting creepy and looking her up online. I liked her right away and we just started having a great time."

Gary 'Gaz' Beadle doesn't "regret anything" that happened with Charlotte Crosby.
The 'Geordie Shore' star has insisted he isn't worried about what his 25-year-old former lover and co-star has written about him in her new book 'Me Me Me', as he's always been himself on the MTV show.
Gaz said: "I'm not worried about what (Charlotte's book) will say. I've never lied to her. I don't regret anything. I wouldn't ever go on telly and not be me. Sleeping with girls, getting p****d and having fun, that's who I am."
The 27-year-old hunk - who famously claimed he's bedded over 1000 women on and off-screen - also revealed nothing surprises him when it comes to sex, and he's even slept with a girl on a moped.
Gaz told The Sun newspaper: "F****** hell, where haven't I had sex? Inside, outside, cars, on a moped . . . It was seven in the morning and we'd just come out of a club in Malia. This little Greek man rode past on his bike, he looked and carried on his way. It was one of the weirdest things ever."
Gaz has now settled down with girlfriend Lillie Lexie Gregg but insisted he has no plans to quit the MTV reality show that made him famous.
He said: "Even if I left, I'd still be going out on a Friday and Saturday night with my mates. I might as well do it as a job and get paid."

Kristina Rihanoff has defended her relationship with Ben Cohen.
The 'Strictly Come Dancing' professional has been branded a "home-wrecker" for getting together with the former rugby star - who she was partnered with on the BBC dance contest in 2013 - but she's now spoken out to insist it wasn't until he split from wife Abby that they began seeing one another.
She said: "He left his wife a year ago. Recently we started dating but we're allowed to see each other as two single people.
"I don't know why I'm always attacked. I am a hardworking, self-made person. I support five people in my family in Russia."
The 37-year-old beauty - who previously dated boxer Joe Calzaghe after they competed on the show together in 2009 - also claimed it's unfair that none of the other professionals are criticised for their relationships.
She told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "It is such double standards.
"Pasha [Kovalev] and Rachel [Riley] got together after the show but everyone believed them when they said they were just friends.
"Flavia [Cacace] had three relationships. Janette [Manrara] was with Pasha, Artem [Chigvintsev] and now Aljaz [Skorjanec] - but I am the horrible one."

'Coronation Street' stars Lucy Fallon and Jack P. Shepherd have teased dark times ahead for the Platt family.
Lucy - who plays rebellious teen Bethany Platt in the ITV soap - has revealed she is to be involved in a "brave storyline" as things take a turn for the worse for her on-screen family.
The 15-year-old daughter of Sarah-Louise Platt (Tina O'Brien) has been dealing drugs for her uncle David's step-son Max's biological father Callum Logan (Sean Ward) but Lucy has hinted she could be set to come to her senses.
She said: "What's coming up for Bethany is very intense.
"Some really scary things are going to happen involving her and the Platts - and it's quite a brave storyline, so I think viewers will be surprised. This could be the wake-up call she needs to straighten herself out."
Meanwhile, Jack - who has played David Platt for 15 years - says the hairdresser is to be at the heart of a gritty plot, which will come to a head in a special live episode in September.
He told the latest issue of Inside Soap magazine: "We're gearing up for the live episode - and there's lots of action involving the Platts.
"It's all building towards David being out for revenge - but only time will tell as to whether he's finally met his match in Callum."

'Loose Women' star Sherrie Hewson has signed up for 'Celebrity Big Brother'.
The former soap actress has been called a "TV favourite" and is said to be a good sport for the reality show, as she will "attract both Corrie and Loose Women fans", according to a source.
An insider revealed: "Sherrie has been on screens for years and is a TV favourite so she'll attract both Corrie and Loose Women fans. The Loose Women ladies always do really well on Celebrity Big Brother and they're hoping that Sherrie is no exception."
The 64-year-old TV personality - who starred in ITV's soap 'Coronation Street' and comedy 'Benidorm' - will follow in the footsteps of several 'Loose Women' ladies, including Nadia Sawalha, Denise Welch and Carol McGiffin, who all did their part in raking in viewers for the show.
The source added to The Sun newspaper:
"Loose Women aren't afraid to be controversial and stand up for themselves, which always makes for good telly. Although Nadia didn't have as much success as the other two panellists, her feuds with Katie brought in massive audiences."

David Walliams' childhood ambition was to be a detective.
The 43-year-old star is very excited about his role in 'Partners in Crime' - an Agatha Christie drama in which he and Jessica Raine play husband-and-wife sleuth team Tommy and Tuppence - because he is finally fulfilling a youthful dream.
He said: "I was about 10 years old when I watched 'Murder On The Orient Express' on TV and I thought the twist at the end was mind-blowing.
"As a kid I actually wanted to be a detective. I put a little sign on my bedroom door saying, 'Detective For Hire' but no one ever hired me."
David is best known for his comic work and he admits 'Partners In Crime' was something of a "challenge" for his acting skills.
He said: "There are some quite heavy scenes and it's a challenge for me because it's not something I've generally done before but it's exciting, and there is humour in the couple's relationship."
And the 'Britain's Got Talent' judge is hopeful the drama will be successful with viewers so he can return to the role.
Asked if he will be back as Tommy, he told Closer magazine: "We certainly hope so. There are more books to adapt and it's been a real pleasure filming these two stories.
"But ultimately it's what the public think - and if they enjoy it I'm sure there will be more.
"It's been a brilliant adventure making it."
