All of the remaining contestants on 'The Voice' have been accidentally told they'd been dumped from the show.
The 500 hopefuls on the BBC reality TV programme were left devastated on Monday (17.08.15) when they received an email informing them they had been binned from the contest, only for BBC bosses to realise the IT error a few hours later and frantically inform some 200 contestants they were still in the competition.
An unnamed email recipient said: "I had invested a huge amount of time and effort into the audition process, so I was devastated when the email came through saying I hadn't made it.
"I put in a really strong audition and, without being arrogant, I was convinced I would get through.
"I told my friends and family that I was out, then I got a call saying it was a mistake. Obviously I was chuffed that I wasn't booted out but I really could have done without the hell I went through.
"Everyone appreciates computers can be a problem but this must have caused a lot of people a lot of heartbreak."
A show insider acknowledged the error, but insisted the matter was now resolved.
The source told The Sun newspaper: "All 200 successful contestants were contacted by telephone and the 300 who were actually kicked off the show had already been sent the correct email.
"It has not been a great week for 'The Voice' and the executives could have done without this mess."
Earlier this week, Sir Tom Jones blasted the BBC for the "deeply insulting" way in which they axed him from the show.
The music icon was told he'd been dropped as a coach on the singing competition on the same day the official announcement was made last week.
He said: "That the executives in charge couldn't be ladies and gentlemen about it, that they were filled with paranoia about a 'leak' above all, is deeply insulting to our professionalism."

Gemma Collins blames 'The Only Way Is Essex' for her weight gain.
The 34-year-old reality star - who recently quit the ITVBe show that made her famous - finds filming "stressful" and claims it stops her from sticking to her diet.
She said: "I'm a size 20 at the minute. I did get down to an 18 but filming stresses me out so much that I start putting on weight again."
And the fashion designer also admitted she doesn't spend much time with her 'TOWIE' co-stars when not filming.
Asked if she hangs out with the rest of the cast, she said: "Not all of them - they're like work colleagues.
"I love them all dearly but I have two businesses and a lot going on."
Gemma also slammed claims she is a diva, insisting that being older than most of the 'TOWIE' cast means she is more confident about speaking her mind.
She told Woman's Own magazine: "You've got to remember some of what we do is for entertainment.
"I'm not a diva. I'm older now and people don't like that I'm upfront with them, I give a direct and straight answer. That's not being a diva, that's because I know my mind, which I think is a good thing.
"A lot of people on the show are in their early twenties, so they haven't got the confidence to speak up.
"A diva is somebody who flounces about demanding this that and the other and that's not me at all."

Gillian Taylforth would consider having cosmetic surgery.
The 'EastEnders' actress - whose character Kathy Beale returned to the BBC One soap earlier this year - has admitted that while she's happy with her looks at the moment, she wouldn't say no to going under the knife or getting Botox in the future.
Speaking about the pressure to look good in public, she shared: "There might come a time when I think, 'You know what, I'd better go for that', but I'm all right for now."
The 60-year-old star - who has also appeared in 'Hollyoaks' and 'Footballers Wives' - "sobbed" when soap bosses asked her to reprise her role but she's not too keen on the attention it brings to her personal life.
She explained: "Yeah, it gets a bit much sometimes. I'm quite tomboyish and so I like going out in no make-up but then people are discussing how I look."
And Gillian confessed she and her co-stars often speak about what work they would have done if they were to opt for surgery.
She added to Radio Times magazine: "Oh, yeah. Just this week, we were talking about what we'd like to have done. But it's that thing of what if it goes wrong - the wind-tunnel look."

'Britain's Got Talent' star Bailey McConnell's debut single has made his fans cry.
The 16-year-old musician's new single tackles his journey through depression and self-harm and now the rising star - who is an ambassador for mental health charity Young Minds - says that fans "break down" in front of him because they relate to his story.
Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz, he said: "People have said that my songs have helped them but it's become more prominent since I've shown people 'Crystalise'.
"It happens a lot in meet and greets when I'm meeting fans, and they literally break down in front of me and tell me that I've helped them through so much. It proper gets to me, it gives me a punch in the heart. It feels amazing to know that I've done that for one person, like I can make that person feel a lot better through my music and that's what I want to carry on doing."
Bailey - who also made judge Amanda Holden cry with his performance on the ITV talent show last year and had the backing of music boss Simon Cowell - has a few words of advice for anyone going through depression.
He added: "The main thing, and it sounds really cliche, is you've just got to tell someone. It will seem hard at the time, because you think it's embarrassing. But I went through it and I know exactly how people feel. You feel worthless, insecure or embarrassed that people will laugh and just be like 'shake it off'. Which does happen. Some teachers, they'll be like they can't be a**ed to deal with it, and they think it's a lot less than it actually is, when it can be quite big."
Bailey McConnell is currently touring the UK, and his debut single Crystalise is out on September 11 - available to pre-order here: https://itun.es/gb/LGnv9

Joss Mooney thinks Vicky Pattison finds it hard to trust men.
The 27-year-old hunk - who briefly dated the 'Geordie Shore' star after meeting on the last series of 'Ex on the Beach' - has admitted he's happy his former flame has found love with the MTV show's current cast member Stephen Bear because he believes she struggles with trust issues.
He exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "It's hard for her to find a guy that she can trust because of who she is. Like, she meets a lot of people, so if she's happy with him then all the best for them."
Joss and Vicky's relationship didn't end on the best of terms, with Joss saying he didn't think the 27-year-old beauty was "girlfriend material", and he's confessed he doesn't think she and her new boyfriend are in any rush to meet up with him.
Asked if he'd met Vicky's new love interest, he said: "No, I don't think he wants to meet me."
Meanwhile, Joss - who is set to join the cast of 'Life on Marbs' tonight (19.08.15) - has revealed that while he has some regrets about appearing on 'Ex on the Beach', it's completely changed his life.
He added: "Yeah I do [have regrets], but then again I don't. It was such a good experience. It was a hard environment to be in, like 24 hour surveillance, and we were so tired half the time, or drunk ... It was kind of like 'Big Brother' in a sense. So you say stuff, and half the stuff I can't even remember, because I was just so tired. But yeah, off the back of it I've had such a good experience and I've met so many more wicked people, I don't really regret it at all. I mean there were some bad sides to it, being put in a house with 4 ex-girlfriends I mean ... It was fun. The day I finished we were all like buzzing we've done it."
'Life on Marbs' continues tonight (19.08.15) at 9pm on ITVBe.

Mary Berry accidentally revealed the contestant who's leaving 'The Great British Bake Off' tonight (19.08.15).
The 80-year-old TV chef - who presents alongside Paul Hollywood - was being interviewed by BBC Radio 2 DJ Chris Evans when she let slip the name of the person who failed to get into the next round.
Speaking on The Chris Evans Breakfast Show Mary revealed that Dorret Conway had failed to make it through to the fourth episode despite the fact viewers won't see her be sent home until the third episode airs tonight (19.08.15).
Chris said: "Well we've already lost two. You don't hang around do you, Mary?"
Mary replied, saying: "Wait a minute, we've lost three."
A confused Chris then added: "Have we lost three?"
Failing to recognise her mistake, Mary insisted: "Yes we have. We lost Mary last week, Dorret and on the first week it was our lovely chap with his little hat on [Stuart]."
Realising the error before Mary had, Chris quickly interrupted and said "you know that but we don't".
He said: "But you've only lost two so far. There's another one tonight, you know that but we don't."
Mary finally cottoned on to her mistake and awkwardly attempted to hide it.
She added: "Oh yeah... then if we lose another one tonight..."
The contestant leaving will be officially announced on tonight's episode at 8pm on BBC One.

Mario Falcone is being lined up to appear on 'Ex on the Beach'.
The 27-year-old hunk announced he had quit ITVBe reality show 'The Only Way Is Essex' earlier this month and it's now been reported producers of the MTV dating show are hoping to sign him and his ex-girlfriend Emma McVey up for the next series.
A source shared: "In reality, Mario is the last person Emma wants to see.

"The producers are confident they'll bag him too, though."
Mario - who was previously engaged to former co-star Lucy Mecklenburgh - and Emma split up earlier this month amid claims he'd been unfaithful to her.
The brunette beauty is already said to have met with 'Ex on the Beach' producers, who are now hoping to convince Mario to join the show following the success of former 'TOWIE' star Kirk Norcross' stint on the current series.
The insider told The Sun newspaper: "After the explosive drama that Kirk Norcross brought to the last series, bosses hope another temperamental 'TOWIE' star will prove a ratings hot."
