Tony Bennett: It’s too late to retire

Tony Bennett says "It’s too late to retire".
The 90-year-old music legend has decided it would be pointless to end his career despite being only 10 years off 100 as there is still so much more he wants to achieve.
Meanwhile, Aretha Franklin, Lady Gaga and Sir Elton John are among stars who will perform live on TV for Tony Bennett’s 90th birthday.
NBC’s ‘Tony Bennett Celebrates 90: The Best Is Yet to Come’ will air on December 20, and the ‘Lady Is A Tramp’ singer says it was "beautiful" seeing so many music giants honouring his special milestone.
He told the New York Post’s PageSix column: "To have everybody in the entertainment world honour me, I can’t think of anything more beautiful.
"I have Lady Gaga, Stevie Wonder, Michael Bublé, Andrea Bocelli, Bob Dylan, Kevin Spacey, Diana Krall, k.d. lang … It goes on and on like that."
Talking about reaching the ripe age of 90, he previously said: "I turn 90 tomorrow (03.08.16) and feel like I’m just getting started and look forward to each day."
The ‘Anything Goes’ hitmaker said then he feels honoured that so many big artists will come together to mark the occasion.
He said: "I have loved performing for the public and sharing the music I love with the world. It’s a thrill to have NBC air a special in honour of my birthday and to have so many wonderful artists that I have worked with and admire participate."
Meanwhile, it’s not just music stars on the lineup.
Actors including Kevin Spacey, John Travolta and Bruce Willis and Alec Baldwin will also be in attendance.
