Tom Jones’ tough The Voice choice

Sir Tom Jones finds it tough to make "good television" and choose between top talent on ‘The Voice’.
The 77-year-old coach is preparing for the "hard" Battle Rounds to commence on the show, and while he is looking forward to pitting his contestants against one another in the next stage of the competition, he is conscious about having a "lopsided" duel.
He said: "Now comes the hard part. You’ve got to make a good battle, it can’t be lopsided. You can’t say, ‘Oh, I’d like to keep that person and let that one go.’
"You’ve got to have people that are compatible.
"You’re shooting yourself in the foot really because you’re trying to get good television, a good battle, two good singers together.
"But you’ve got to make a decision because one of them has to leave."
The ‘It’s Not Unusual’ hitmaker is confident he has the future winner of the series in Team Tom, but admits he was disappointed to lose a few wannabes to the other coaches, Olly Murs, will.i.am and Jennifer Hudson.
He said: "I always do [feel confident]. I wouldn’t have picked the singers I picked if I wasn’t. But some I would’ve liked went with the other coaches.
"That’s too bad. You’ve got to do what you can with the people you have. At least I picked them, or they came with me.
"It’s an exciting thing to see. In the blind auditions you hear a voice, you don’t see them, you don’t know anything about them."
Tom has plenty of "fun" with his fellow coaches and has particularly bonded with Olly while filming the show.
Speaking on ‘This Morning’, he added: "It’s a lot of fun, we have a lot of fun together, the four of us coaches. If someone starts something off it triggers something else and then we join in. It’s a good feeling, and Olly is part of that now.
"He’s very up and what you see is what you get with Olly."
