Todrick Hall picks his favourite Taylor Swift song and it’s neither of their collaborations

Todrick Hall admits one of his favourite Taylor Swift songs isn’t either of their collaborations.

The 41-year-old performer – who worked with the pop megastar during her Reputation and Lover eras – actually picked a track from her 1989 album as he reflected on “imaginative” single Style from 2014.

He told PEOPLE magazine: “One of my favourite songs is Style.

“Something about that guitar lick at the beginning of Style just immediately transports me back to that place.

“I just love that song. I think it’s so well written and I think it’s so imaginative. And I love the way that Taylor tells stories with her music and her lyrics.”

The track was released a few years before the singer, dancer and choreographer started working with Taylor.

He appeared as a dancer in the 2017 video for Look What You Made Me Do, and two years later he was credited as an executive producer on her You Need To Calm Down video.

In a behind the scenes clip from the latter, Taylor previously heaped praise on Todrick for the work he put into the promo as she was seen heading towards his trailer with a handwritten note in her hand.

She said: “My friend Todrick is one of those people who is very generous with his effort and time, he would never ask for credit when he deserves it.

“He has put so much into this video, whether it was casting or ideas or fashion, and you know, logistics.

“He’s basically booked half of this video. So I’m going to ask him to be co-executive producer of this video in this card.”

The pair first became friends years earlier after she found one of his YouTube videos, and he loved getting to appear in the video for Look What You Made Me Do.

He told Entertainment Tonight at the time: “She’s just such an iconic and epic person, and whatever she puts her hands on always turns to gold.

“I love the fact that she expresses how she feels through her music as opposed to on Twitter, on social media.

“It’s always done in such an epic and creative way. I just really appreciate any artist that does that.”
