Tiffany Haddish jokes cash would be better than Emmy Award

Tiffany Haddish would rather have money than her Emmy Award.
The 38-year-old actress picked up the gong for Best Guest Actress in a comedy series for her stint as a guest host on ‘Saturday Night Life’ during the glitzy award ceremony last week, but has joked that whilst she appreciates the accolade, she would rather have cash so she can "pay the rent".
Speaking to E! News about her win, she teased: "I feel the same way I did when I wasn’t an Emmy winner. I don’t feel any different. I’m waiting for the check, you know, ’cause you know, when you win a trophy, when you’re like a NASCAR driver and stuff, you get like, flowers and a check, so I’m hoping that happens. I’m waiting for that to happen.
"Accolades, what is that? Accolades don’t pay the rent. I gotta pay for my grandma’s nurses and stuff so that would, a check would be nice. But it’s nice to have trophies, I guess. But it doesn’t matter if you don’t have a roof to keep ’em under, huh?"
It’s not the first time the ‘Girls Trip’ star has joked about her paycheque either, as she previously said she would love to try her hand at hosting the Oscars, but only if she got paid for it.
Speaking at this year’s ceremony – where she presented the awards for Documentary Short and Live-Action Short alongside Maya Rudolph – she said: "I would totally do it if we get paid! ‘Cause I didn’t get paid for [presenting tonight.]
"I didn’t get nothing. If I get paid, I’m down. ‘Cause, you know, I got bills to pay. I gotta pay for these dresses."
During their time on stage, the two stars joked the ceremony – which was criticized in 2016 for its lack of diversity – was "too black now".
Maya said: "But we just want to say, don’t worry. There are so many more white people to come."
Tiffany added: "So many. We just came from backstage, and there are tons of them back there.
"And not just movie stars, there are white people walking around with headsets, white people with clipboards. I’m personally not a fan of white people with clipboards, because I’m always wondering, what are they writing down about me?"
