Thom Yorke to headline Sonar Festival

Thom Yorke, Gorillaz and LCD Soundsystem will headline Sonar Festival.
The huge acts will take to the stage at the Barcelona music extravaganza, which takes place on June 14-16, in celebration of the spectacle’s 25th anniversary this year.
Several other stars will also perform, including Diplo, who will curate a showcase as part of Sonar by Day, as well as Wiley, Richie Hawtin, Modeselektor, Ólafur Arnalds, Cornelius, Bonobo, Goldlink, John Talabot, Laurel Halo, A-Trak, DJ Harvey, and Yung Lean.
De La Soul, Giggs, Little Dragon, Justice and DJ Shadow were among the performers at last year’s event.
Last year, Thom’s band Radiohead were announced as one of the nominees for the 2018 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but the ‘Creep’ hitmakers later admitted they were "ambivalent" about the nod.
Guitarist Ed O’Brien said: "It’s in our DNA to be a little ambivalent with award ceremonies.
"As a British band, it’s one of those things that it’s very lovely to be nominated, but we don’t quite culturally understand it. It’s a very American thing. Us Brits are very bad at celebrating ourselves.
"One of the things I’ve always loved about coming over to America is American bands you can always have a really good chat with and you could talk. With British bands, there was a lot of hostility. It’s in our DNA to be a little ambivalent with award ceremonies. We haven’t had great experiences. I would never want to disrespect anything because obviously some amazing artists have been nominated. But if I’m honest I don’t understand it. It’s just kind of a British person going, ‘OK, thanks, what does this mean?’"
