The Weeknd ‘put his career before Selena Gomez’

The Weeknd reportedly prioritised his career over his relationship with Selena Gomez.
The 27-year-old singer and Selena, 25, recently ended their ten-month relationship, and a source close to the situation has suggested the Canadian star considered the brunette beauty to be secondary to his music career.
An insider explained: "Everyone wants love, but his focus is the business.
"He’s building a legacy. He’s young and successful with money and can have any girl he wants. Their relationship kind of came out of nowhere."
Prior to dating Selena, The Weeknd was involved in a 18-month relationship with model Bella Hadid.
And another source close to the situation has claimed the Selena and The Weeknd – whose real name is Abel Tesfaye – are just markedly different personalities.
The insider told the New York Post newspaper’s Page Six column: "He’s a supreme player. He hits the scene hard. [Selena’s] more subtle with it."
By contrast, it has also been claimed that Selena and The Weeknd split up because they couldn’t deal with the "distance" between them.
A source previously said: "It’s been hard for them to come to the realisation that this is the direction things were heading, but it’s been hard for months.
"They have been open and honest about it and where they were going. Distance definitely played a factor."
It was said, too, that despite doing their best to make their relationship work, the high-profile duo simply weren’t able to spend enough quality time together because of their jam-packed schedules.
Another source explained: "They really tried to connect in New York, they were spending a lot of time together and were basically living together, but when his schedule picked up, they just started to drift again.
"She flew out to Vancouver and I think that was basically a last ditch effort to make it work."
