The Voice’s Ricky Wilson wants the panel to stay together

Ricky Wilson says ‘The Voice’ bosses would be "f***ing idiots" if they sacked any of this year’s judging panel.

The Kaiser Chiefs singer was a new arrival on the show along with Kylie Minogue, and he believes the four mentors – including will.i.am and Sir Tom Jones – have been vital to the TV talent show’s revival during its third series.

Asked whether he thought BBC1 bosses should offer him a new deal, he told The Sun newspaper: "They’d be f***ing idiots if they didn’t. All the coaches have made it really good this year."

The rocker has also responded to the suggestion that he and his fellow panelists can be too kind to competitors, admitting he sometimes prefers the more "flawed" performers.

He added: "I connect with flawed voices."

One of the critics has been former judge Jessie J, who left the showed after the second series and has taken to Twitter to hit out at the current panel for keeping hopefuls in a "Yes bubble".

She recently wrote: "Where is the constructive vocal criticism?! It was TOO MUCH!

"Vocally messy and too many runs and licks! Singers don’t and won’t improve if you continually say ‘amazing’ when it’s not… Can’t get better in a ‘Yes bubble’ (sic)"
