The Stones Roses tickets sell out in 10 seconds

Tickets for The Stone Roses’ reunion shows sold out in 10 seconds.

The 90s rockers announced two stadium gigs earlier this week and tickets sold out in record time as eager fans raced to get the chance to see a rare performance from the band.

However, thousands were left disappointed by the ‘I Wanna Be Adored’ band as ticketing site Ticketmaster crashed due to demand for the shows at Manchester Etihad Stadium in June 2016.

Ticket touts have been selling tickets on for up to £800 each and as a result the band have added two more shows on June 15 and 19, alongside the original shows on June 17 and 18.

The band – which includes Ian Brown, John Squire, Mani and Reni – announced on Twitter: "Due to unprecedented demand 4th night added (sic)"

They previously revealed they will headline T in the Park festival in Scotland and are also rumoured to be playing Glastonbury next year.

A source told The Daily Star: "The Stone Roses were asked to play Glasto this year, firstly instead of The Who and then as a replacement for Foo Fighters when they cancelled.

"Eavis only has a couple of headline acts left on his wishlist and The Stone Roses are definitely one of them."

The homecoming gigs will mark the first time the band have played in their hometown Manchester since 2012, when they performed three shows at Heaton Park to over 220,000 fans supported by Liam Gallagher’s Beady Eye, Plan B, Primal Scream, The Vaccines, Professor Green, and The Wailers.
