The Rolling Stones’ Exhibitionism coming to New York

The Rolling Stones’ ‘Exhibitionism’ is to open in New York in November.
The major display, which contains memorabilia and iconic items from the British rock band’s six-decade spanning career, will move to the West Village’s Industria Superstudio in the Big Apple after a successful run at London’s Saatchi Gallery, which will end in September.
In a statement, Sir Mick Jagger – who is joined by Ronnie Wood, Keith Richards and Charlie Watts in the band – said: "We’ve been thinking about this for quite a long time but we wanted it to be just right and on a large scale. The process has been like planning our touring concert productions and I think that right now it’s an interesting time to do it."
The ‘Satisfaction’ hitmaker’s exhibit features unseen video clips, personal diaries, unique cinematic shows, and collaborations with a host of artists including Andy Warhol, Alexander McQueen and Martin Scorsese.
For frontman Mick, 72, ‘Exhibitionism’ is more of a showcase of behind-the-scenes of one of the biggest bands in rock ‘n’ roll history, rather than a trip down memory lane.
He told BANG Showbiz: "As a whole it doesn’t make me nostalgic because I’m into it as a whole. I’ve been trying to get it off the ground and get it ready. Maybe when it’s up and running I might come back and have a nostalgic moment on my own.
"The only thing that makes it slightly nostalgic are the costumes, just a little bit, it’s not like I’m fighting back tears, which I think is a good thing. There’s a lot of good things in there when you look at it as a piece. There are some incredible photographs by some very well know photographers. There are some really cool art pieces.
"It’s not just about the band, there’s a lot of the behind-the-scenes stuff that you don’t see, people like the stage designers, all this sort of thing, you can get a real appreciation for it. You see their sketch books and things like that, and that’s us, that’s the people we’ve worked with who have helped us and made all of this a reality. But there are lots of pictures of me of course!"
Tickets will go on sale for the New York run in September.
