The Queen has invited Middletons for tea after christening

The Queen of England has invited the Middletons for tea at Sandringham following Princess Charlotte’s christening on Sunday (05.07.15).

Her Majesty will host a "low-key" reception at her private residence in Norfolk for family and friends following her great-granddaughter’s christening at St Mary Magdalene Church, and has invited her granddaughter-in law the Duchess of Cambridge’s family to come along, according to the Mail Online.

As well as Kate’s parents Carole and Michael and siblings Pippa and James, the guests will include Charlotte’s godparents and their partners, as well as the Archbishop of Canterbury, The Most Reverend Justin Welby, and Sandringham Rector The Reverend Canon Jonathan Rivers – both of whom are officiating at the ceremony. However, uncle Prince Harry won’t be present on the day as he is on a conservation mission in Africa.

After the royal high tea, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their closest family and friends will retire to their nearby mansion, Anmer Hall.

Unusually for a royal christening, members of the public have been invited to watch the royal party arrive and leave the christening from the paddock outside the church. However, the ceremony will remain private while long-standing royal photographer Mario Testino, who took William and Kate’s engagement portrait, will take the official christening photographs.
