The Kid Laroi urges people to discover the real him through his music

The Kid Laroi says people will learn more about him from his music than his upcoming documentary.

The Australian singer’s ‘Kids Are Growing Up: A Story About A Kid Named Laroi’ promises to give an insight into his life as a popstar but he believes he is most open and revealing in his music.

He said: “As much as people are gonna learn about me through this documentary, I think people would learn more if they really paid attention to the music.”

The documentary has been directed by Michael D. Ratner and will give fans more of an insight into the making of his debut album, ‘The First Time’.

It will also feature interviews with Post Malone and Justin Bieber, who he collaborated with on ‘Stay’.

Justin shared in the documentary teaser: “The first time I ever actually called him, he was in the shower, and I was like, ‘What’s up, dog? You can call me when you’re done showering!’”

The movie will also delve into Laroi’s friendship with late rapper Juice WRLD.

Laroi, 20, said in the trailer: “I had an incredible mentor. He taught me a lot about life. He had so much life left to live.”

Speaking previously about Juice, who died in 2019 as a result of oxycodone and codeine toxicity, he told NME: “I love Juice – shout out to my brother, RIP, one of the greatest of all time. He was obviously a close friend of mine and a mentor.

“They need to leave his legacy alone and let him be because he is one of the greatest of all time and I’m nowhere there yet. I feel like there’s a lot of pressure on me being called Juice’s protege but I guess it’s a blessing and a curse. I do have my own career but he is one of the people who made me who I am today.”
