The Duchess of Cornwall attends RAF Halton Graduation Parade

The Duchess of Cornwall attended a Graduation Parade at the Royal Air Force Halton on Wednesday (24.05.17).
The 69-year-old royal visited the county of Cheshire in the UK yesterday where she spent the morning meeting the new recruits at the site and awarded them with the Queen’s Colour, which has made it the seventh Air Force establishment to receive the award, according to the Bucks Herald website.
RAF Halton was believed to have received the honour in 1952, but it was passed over to RAF Cosford when the School of Technical Training relocated to the site in 1993.
The event was kicked off with a special ceremony, which saw the old Colour marched off for the new colour to be unveiled.
However, the forces will not get rid of the old Colour as it will be moved to St Michael and All Angels Church instead.
Duchess Camilla – who is RAF Halton’s Honorary Air Commodore – not only presented the troop with the honour but she also acted as the Reviewing Officer for the 82 Airmen and Airwomen from Douglas Intake who graduated from the course after a gruelling 10-week course, and also gave out awards to the top recruits.
And the special day will be a moment cherished for Flight Lieutenant Scott Ripley-Jones’ life.
He said: "Today is a day I will remember for the rest of my life with pride. To be chosen to bear the new Queen’s Colour is a personal honour for me."
