The Chainsmokers: We always wanted to work with Halsey

The Chainsmokers say Halsey topped the list of artists they wanted to work with.
The duo – comprised of Alex Pall and Andrew Taggart – teamed up with the 21-year-old singer on their chart-topping single ‘Closer’, and they have now said she was musician they "wanted to collaborate with the most", even before the song was in production.
Speaking to Billboard magazine, Alex said: "[Halsey is] an artist who the last year before we put the song together, we said she was the artist we wanted to collaborate with the most."
And the success of the resulting single – which has reigned over the Billboard Hot 100 for five weeks – is still something that the pair are trying to come to terms with, saying they are "super grateful" for the support they’ve received.
Alex added: "It’s incredible. We work super hard on our music, take it really seriously … to see people enjoying our music like they are, that will never get old. We’re just super grateful."
As for their next big collaboration, the ‘Selfie’ hitmakers have teased they may have "something special" on the way with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin.
Speaking to BANG Showbiz, they said: "We don’t want to jinx anything or give away too much but [Chris Martin] and that experience were one of the most wonderful moments we have ever experienced.
"And we may or may not have something really special in the pipeline."
The pair also confessed their sessions with the ‘Up&Up’ singer have inspired them to be "better", and they loved working with him because he is "magnetic and talented".
They said: "You leave Chris Martin wanting to be a better person … He is magnetic and so talented, to be able to shoot the s**t talk about his music, our music, the future, it was something."
