Tess Daly says Duchess of Cornwall is her dream Strictly contestant

Tess Daly’s dream contestant for ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ is Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall.
The 50-year-old presenter hosts the BBC ballroom show with Claudia Winkleman and she admits if she could pick any celebrity to step onto the ballroom it would be 72-year-old Camilla – the wife Prince Charles, the heir to the British throne.
In an interview with HELLO! magazine, Tess said: "Camilla has a great sense of humour and is so down-to-earth. She’s a huge fan of ‘Strictly’ and told us how much she enjoys it. We’d love to have her on the show. She’s friends with Craig Revel Horwood so maybe I’ll ask him to have a word!"
Tess has worked on ‘Strictly’ since 2004 and she loves everything about Latin and ballroom dancing and if she ever got the chance to take to the dancefloor herself the Argentine tango would be the routine she’d be most excited to try.
She shared: "If I had to compete on ‘Strictly’, that’s the dance I would do (the Argentine tango). I love the passion and the storytelling of the dance. Because I’m tall I’d need a tall partner like Johannes [Radebe], Graziano [Di Prima] or Anton [Du Beke]. Otherwise I’d tower over them in a heel and they wouldn’t be able to life me."
Tess – who is married to television presenter Vernon Kay, with whom she has two daughters, Phoebe, 15, and 10-year-old Amber – is completely committed to ‘Strictly’ and admits it is a privilege to front the UK’s favourite Saturday night show.
She said: "I love ‘Strictly’. It has been an incredible journey and it’s a privilege to work on something that people have taken to their hearts."
