Ted Reilly in the dark about Danny-Boy Hatchard’s departure

Ted Reilly has no idea how Danny-Boy Hatchard will leave ‘EastEnders’.
The actor – who plays Johnny Carter on the BBC soap – may be close friends with his on-screen brother, who announced he was leaving the show in August, but his pal has only offered tiny hints to him as to how his alter ego Lee Carter will depart Walford in the coming months.
Ted said: "It’s sad for me personally because I love Danny-Boy. He’s still around at the moment but he hasn’t told me how he’s leaving
"He’s teased his exit a little bit, but I think he wants it to feel real when we film it."
But even without Lee’s presence on the show, Ted has promised there’s still a lot of drama in store for his on-screen family.
He said: "There are lots of exciting things happening for the Carters – the next year is going to be big."
Ted also stated that he now feels fully settled into the show after joining the soap in April, thanks in particular to the stars who play the rest of the Carter family.
He told RadioTimes.com: "It’s a welcoming cast. The Carters created that family atmosphere for me straight away."
But the actor is amused by show bosses’ attempts to keep the growing baby bump of Kellie Bright, who plays Carter family matriarch Linda Carter, hidden from viewers.
He joked: "It’s a fun little game to guess how they’re going to hide the bump. Will it be a laundry basket, a cushion or a handbag?"
