Taylor Swift predicted engagement to Travis Kelce

Taylor Swift predicted her engagement to Travis Kelce in a song on her new album as she knew a “hard rock is on the way”.

The 35-year-old pop superstar announced her engagement to the NFL player in August after two years of dating and she’s now revealed she knew the sportsman was planning to propose by writing about it in her new track Wood, which features on her new record The Life of a Showgirl.

In the track, Taylor sings: “Girls, I don’t need to catch a bouquet, mm / To know a hard rock is on the way /

“And baby, I’ll admit I’ve been a little superstitious / The curse on me was broken by your magic wand / Seems to me that you and me, we make our own luck.”

She goes on to reference Travis’ New Heights podcast – the show she made an appearance on in August to discuss her new album shortly before announcing the engagement.

Taylor added: “New heights / A man who I ain’t gotta / Knock on wood / All of that b******’, wishin’ on a fallin’ star / Never did me any good / I ain’t got to knock on wood.”

Later in the song, she adds of her man: “It’s you and me forever …

“Forgive me, it sounds cocky / He hypnotized me and opened my eyes / Redwood tree, it ain’t hard to see / his love was the key to open my thighs.”

The Life of a Showgirl also features a track called Wi$h Li$t, in which Taylor looks to the future and sees her life as a wife and mother.

She sings: “I just want you / Have a couple kids, got the whole block lookin’ like you / We tell the world to leave us the f*** alone … and they do / Wow /

“Got me dreamin’ ’bout a driveway with a basketball hoop / Boss up, settle down, got a wishlist / I just want you /

“I made wishes on all of the stars / Please, God, bring me a best friend / Who I think is hot / I thought I had it right once, twice, but I did not /

“You caught me off my guard / I hope I get what I want / ’Cause I know what I want.”

Taylor also references her relationship in Eldest Daughter, in which she sings about hiding her dream of getting married.

She sings: “I’m never gonna let you down / I’m never gonna leave you out / So many traitors / Smooth operators /

“I’m never gonna break that vow / I’m never gonna leave you now, now, now / When I said I don’t believe in marriage / That was a lie /

“Every eldest daughter / Was the first lamb to the slaughter / so we all dressed up as wolves and we looked fire.”
