Tamzin Outhwaite jokes life has turned into Motherland

Tamzin Outhwaite has been "run ragged" but is "happy" since leaving ‘EastEnders’.
The former Albert Square star bowed out of the BBC One soap earlier this month when her character Mel Owen was killed off, and she joked her life has turned into an episode of BBC sitcom ‘Motherland’ – which stars Anna Maxwell Martin as working mum Julia – since leaving Walford.
She wrote on Twitter: "Meant to say for the past 2wks my life has become an episode of Motherland, just much less funny. 2 school runs in, voice over next, then across town to read through, back for 2 school pick ups, check on recovering Dad,dinner & attack the washing pile #runraggedbuthappy (sic)"
Following her on-screen ‘EastEnders’ exit two weeks ago, Tamzin admitted she "couldn’t feel more proud" of her work on the show.
The 49-year-old star’s character Mel – who first stepped foot in Walford in 1998 – was tragically killed off when she was run over by a lorry after surviving a car crash.
And the former ‘New Tricks’ star admitted she was looking to the future.
She wrote on Twitter: "Right … brand new day
Thank you so much for all the love…
I could not have relished playing Mel any more and I could not feel more proud.
Here’s to the next 21 years of life, the next job, the next chapter.
Happy Friday people. (sic)"
Tamzin – who reprised her role as Mel in 2018 after 16 years away – also hinted she could now turn her hand to TV presenting.
Her pal Lucy Alexander – who previously co-hosted ‘Homes Under the Hammer’ – tweeted her saying: "Right… now get you’re co-presenter head on baby.. time for some tv fun with meeeeee. (sic)"
Tamzin then replied: "Ooh yes … ok… call ya later @LucyAlexanderTV … (sic)"
