Tameka Empson’s fried chicken for Donald Trump

Tameka Empson wants to take Donald Trump to EastEnders’ fried chicken shop when he visits the UK.
The 41-year-old actress – who plays Kim Fox-Hubbard in the BBC One soap – would love to treat the US president to a chicken and chips meal at McKlunky’s, the takeaway on the show’s Turpin Road set, when he heads to London on July 13.
She said: "I hear that he’s not a drinker so I don’t think he would go well in the Vic, but I might take him down to McKlunky’s. Get a bit of fried chicken, and chips. Yeah, a bit of fried chicken and chips.
"Let’s see what happens when he comes."
While it’s not known if Trump will be heading to Walford during his UK trip, Tameka’s on-screen husband Vincent Hubbard (Richard Blackwood) could well be on the way back to Albert Square after she hinted about his possible return following the character’s departure last week.
She said: "When is he coming back? He should be back already is what I’m saying.
"I don’t know, I don’t know when he’s coming back, but you know, he’s gonna come back for this [points to face] hasn’t he?
"Watch this space. I’m hoping he’s going to come bearing gifts. He can’t be away for a little while and come back with nothing."
Tameka also defended some of the hard-hitting plots on ‘EastEnders’, and teased fans they can expect Kim to turn into a "lioness" following Vincent’s departure.
Speaking on ‘The One Show’, she added: "I know it’s drama, it’s make-believe, but it is based on something.
"I think life can be grim. Life can be hard, but there’s also the funny side. If you go too much one way, it becomes something else. People who tune in to view it, they want that balance.
"You’ve got all of these families on this Square that’s going through different things. What’s nice is that you’ve got a character, if I’m talking about Kim, can be [fairly happy] but let’s see how she actually reacts when things are not going her way.
"Remember, she’s a mother so she’s trying to make sure that everything is OK for the little girl, and to make sure that’s protected. We’re going to see the lioness in her."
Vincent was last seen trapped in a car with one of evil Aidan Maguire’s (Patrick Bergin) cronies pointing a gun at him, in a scene which echoed Bob Hoskins’ gangster masterpiece ‘The Long Good Friday’.
