Sylvester Stallone pokes fun at Wesley Snipes prison stretch

Sylvester Stallone has joked he’s going to cast Wesley Snipes in an ‘Escape From Alcatraz 2’ movie.

The 68-year-old actor poked fun at his ‘Expendables 3’ co-star following the ‘Blade’ actor’s recent prison stint for tax evasion, joking that he is going to make a sequel to prison movie ‘Escape From Alcatraz’ and cast Snipes in the lead role.

Speaking at a press conference to promote ‘The Expendables 3’ in central London on Monday (04.08.14), Stallone quipped: "You don’t mind that I’m readying you for a part in ‘Escape From Alcatraz 2’ do you?"

Earlier in the press conference, Snipes poked fun at his own absence from the movie scene after being jailed for three years in 2010, joking he had been waiting to work with Sylvester ever since they starred opposite one another in 1993 movie ‘Demolition Man’.

He said: "I’ve been waiting to work with you ever since. You were busy … I was busy."

Snipes also admitted he was pleased his return to the big screen was on a film set that was so much fun.

He said: "You can imagine being on an Olympic sports team of some sort, we’ve got some of the best of the best players all playing at the same time. We’ve had a lot of fun."

The first scene in the film sees The Expendables – made up of Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren and Randy Couture – break Snipes’ character Doc out of prison.

When they’re in the plane afterwards, they ask him what he was prison for and he jokingly responds: "Tax evasion".
