Susanna Reid feels like she’s known Ben Shephard her whole life.
The 43-year-old TV presenter will work alongside the former ‘GMTV’ host when they front ITV’s new breakfast show, ‘Good Morning Britain’, from next week, and Susanna says they’ve hit it off already.
She explained: "I didn’t know Ben but I didn’t feel nervous meeting him because he’s such a familiar face having presented ‘GMTV’ and been such a regular on television. It felt like I’d known him all my life."
The former ‘BBC Breakfast’ star has even taken it upon herself to get to know Ben, as well as her fellow ‘Good Morning Britain’ anchors Sean Fletcher and Charlotte Hawkins, by arranging casual lunches in order to create a bond among them.
She told Radio Times magazine: "I like to socialise with the people I work with and really get to know them.
"The last couple of weeks have been about having lunch with Ben Shephard and Charlotte Hawkins. I’m going out with Charlie on Thursday. I definitely like to be friends with the people I work with.
"First and foremost, you need to trust each other. When the proverbial hits the fan, you need to know the other person has your back and the other person needs to know the same about you."
