Sunset Sons get song inspiration from Catfish And The Bottlemen

Sunset Sons’ Rory Williams was inspired to write two songs after watching Catfish And The Bottlemen at Boardmasters.
The ‘Remember’ hitmaker saw the indie rockers tear up the main stage at the music festival at Watergate Bay in Newquay, Cornwall on Friday night (12.08.16) and straight after he jotted down lyrics.
Rory said seeing the ‘Soundcheck’ hitmakers’ "f***ing awesome" set made him fall back in love with music again after admitting it can be hard work writing songs.
He exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "I watched Catfish the other night and I was like, that was f***ing awesome. Watching them really got me in the mindset to write.
"I watched them and then wrote two songs, just ideas and rough lyrics and stuff. It made me find the love for music again.
"You go up and down with writing. It is difficult. What am I supposed to sing about? I am looking at these guys everyday all day. I could write a song about a cup of coffee, Blur did it. But the last two years have been amazing.
"I’m excited about the next year and I want to keep upping our game."
Meanwhile, the hunky singer said he won’t be satisfied until his band – also comprised of Jed Laidlaw, Robin Windram and Pete Harper – play stadiums.
He said: "I’m not going to be happy until we are playing stadiums. I don’t think we are failing in any way shape or form.
"I am constantly thinking about what we can do to better ourselves."
Sunset Sons’ new single ‘Remember’ will be released on August 26.
