Strictly Come Dancing gets revamp

The ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ studio will get a glamorous revamp this year.
Bosses of the ballroom and latin show were left red faced last year when Brian Conley let slip during his exit interview that the toilets were in serious need of a refurbishment to get "rid of the smell", and it seems they’ve taken the criticism on board as they’ve arranged for a "glitter heaven" touch up ahead of the new series.
A source told the Daily Star newspaper: "The whole studio front and back has been given a fresh look as it needed it. The staff at Elstree agreed with Brian that the loos could do with a touchup. It’ll be glitter heaven this year."
But it’s not just the toilets that will be gleaming this year as producers have arranged for a new area to interview contestants after their performance because they were getting fed up of having fire exits, stairs and other unattractive features in the shot.
With this year’s contestants yet to be unveiled, Scarlett Moffatt was the most recent celebrity to hint she may appear in the star-studded line-up.
Other rumoured celebrities have included the likes of Mary Berry and Coleen Rooney.
The 17th series – which will air this autumn – will be bigger than ever as the BBC announced 18 professional dancers for this year’s cast.
Three new dancers will be join the hit show after 42-year-old Brendan Cole and Chloe Hewitt, 43, revealed that they had been dropped from the 2018 line up.
Brendan said: "It’s quite hard to talk about.
"The BBC haven’t renewed my contract. We get contracted year upon year. They’ve made an editorial decision to not have me back on the show. I’m a little bit in shock. I’m quite emotional, a bit raw about it. It’s done via a process of a phone call and stuff. I have had 15 incredible series on the show. I’m very proud of the whole show. It’s a great team. I’m disappointed. It’s very hard to talk about. It’s a recent decision."
