Strictly Come Dancing bans reality TV stars from line up

‘Strictly Come Dancing’ bosses don’t want reality TV stars on this year’s line up.
The popular ballroom and latin show will return to screens in just a few months’ time when a new host of celebrities will attempt to master the fancy footwork week-in week-out in a bid to lift the famous glitterball trophy at the end of the competition.
But producers have set themselves a hard task this time around as they’ve reportedly banned any stars from the likes of ‘Geordie Shore’, ‘The Only Way is Essex’ and ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ from wiggling their way onto the forthcoming line-up.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: "Certain reality celebrities have been peddling these stories about being ‘in talks’ for the show when they have never been approached.
Bosses are now fed up of hearing the same people bandying around their own names just to shift a few copies of some weight-loss DVD. In light of this, they’ve put in place their own reality star ban to stop them from cashing in on the show."
The line up is being kept under wraps for now, but it’s believed Stormzy’s girlfriend Maya Jama, Union J’s Josh Cuthbert and TV presenter Anneka Rice have all been approached for the new series as bosses want to outdo last year’s instalment.
The news of the ban will no doubt infuriate Gemma Collins – who shot to fame on ‘TOWIE’ back in 2011 – as she’s been desperate to slip into a skimpy dress and shake her hips in front of acid-tongue judge Craig Revel Horwood.
She said recently: "I like them tall dark and handsome, with swept back hair so I can run my fingers through it on the dancefloor. I also like Anton du Beke or Gorka."
