Stevie Wonder cheers on Usher as he collects Hollywood Walk of Fame star

Usher was cheered on by Stevie Wonder, Kelly Rowland, Miguel and will.i.am as he collected his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Wednesday (07.09.16).
The 37-year-old singer-and-actor was joined by the legendary hitmaker and a string of chart topping friends and close family, as he became the 2,588th performer to be honoured with a spot on the famous boardwalk in Los Angeles.
But the eight-time Grammy winner singled out his mother, Jonetta Patton, for special thanks when he accepted the prestigious accolade.
He said: "Mom, thank you for everything and all the people that you’ve actually helped to bring here. They wouldn’t be here if you didn’t recognise and make sure you selected the right people to be around and to help me be the man I am today and in this position.
"I don’t just celebrate this moment by myself. I celebrate it with those people who invested in me, those people who loved me through my hard times."
He added: "This is the first time in history that I’ve ever come in 2,588th place – and it felt like No. 1."
And taking to Twitter last night (07.09.16), Usher quoted his pal and New York based artist Daniel Arsham as he mused on what it takes to make a great performer.
He tweeted: "An artists job is to make people see the world around them in a new way.’ – Daniel Arsham (sic)"
Renowned filmmaker Harvey Weinstein, who cast Usher in his first ever movie role in 1999’s ‘She’s All That’ and gave him his latest role as boxer Sugar Ray Leonard in Roberto Duran biopic ‘Hands of Stone’, was a guest speaker at the star-studded bash and praised his good friend for being up there with the likes of Michael Jackson and James Cagney as a "triple-threat talent" who could do "everything."
The ‘Confessions’ hitmaker – who is married to Grace Miguel – was born in Texas, US, and discovered aged 13 when he competed on talent TV show ‘Star Search’ and was later introduced to renowned music-mogul L.A Reid.
