Steven Moffat pens new Doctor Who story for Jodie Whittaker’s Time Lord

Steven Moffat has written a short story featuring Jodie Whittaker’s Time Lord.
The former ‘Doctor Who’ showrunner has penned a new tale – ‘The Terror of the Umpty Ums’ – after previously leaving the sci-fi favourite when Peter Capaldi left the title role.
The story – posted on the show’s official BBC website – introduces us to a boy called David, who is actually a DeathBord 400 called Karpagnon and plans to end the human race.
However, his reign of terror is cut short when Jodie’s Thirteenth Doctor starts to give him advice.
The story itself features plenty of Easter Eggs and callbacks for fans to enjoy, including some connections between the current Time Lord, and Moffat’s own stint in charge of the show.
The ‘Doctor Who’ universe has been helping fans and keeping them entertained during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, with online entries and online watchalongs of classic episodes.
Earlier this week, it was reported that full-cast audio dramas based on the BBC series are being made available to download for free every Monday on the Big Finish website.
‘Doctor Who’ fans are being encouraged to register for a free Big Finish account, which will allow them to listen to ‘Doctor Who: The War Doctor – The Innocent’, the first of the free releases from Big Finish.
The audio drama stars John Hurt and tells the story of the War Doctor’s recovery on the peaceful planet Keska.
Meanwhile, Billie Piper recently thanked ‘Doctor Who’ fans for the impact the TV show had on her life.
Writer Russell T Davies live tweeted during a watch-a-long of ‘Rose’ – the official reboot of the sci-fi show, which introduced the actress as Rose Tyler – to mark the 15th anniversary of the episode, and Billie also took to social media to reflect on her own ‘Doctor Who’ experience.
Billie – who first starred on the iconic sci-fi show back in 2005 – posted on Instagram: "In the midst of everything I forgot to say hey and yay and Happy Birthday. ‘Rose’ and the Dr Who reboot was 15 today.
"Love to all you fans out there. You positively changed my life for ever and so did you @russelltdavies63 and so did you #rosetyler. (sic)"
