Stereophonics cancel Australia and Dubai shows after Kelly Jones ‘displaced’ jaw joint

Stereophonics have been forced to cancel their shows in Australia and Dubai after frontman Kelly Jones “displaced” a jaw joint.

The Maybe Tomorrow rockers were due to play five shows Down Under, kicking off on October 18 in Brisbane, and Dubai’s Coca Cola Arena on October 29.

However, Kelly has been advised by doctors not to travel long distance and is undergoing physiotherapy to heal the injured joint.

In a statement on social media, he said: “I am gutted, saddened and disappointed to inform you all, that due to a displaced jaw joint (not caused by singing folks – just one of life’s tense dizzying mysteries!) the upcoming Australia and Dubai shows are cancelled. Refunds will be given at point of purchase. Flying long distance is not medically advised. The UK tour in December is still set to go ahead as planned. I have cancelled no more than 4 shows in 30 years and I hope you can trust this decision was not taken lightly. I work hard to put on a great show every night, my prep starts in the morning through to showtime. I respect you as audience members and I respect my crew and band brothers, the bed on which I lay, too much to travel with a doubt. Physio Rehabilitation and healing is the priority right now. There’s 13 studio albums there…spin the black circle until the next time. Love and good health to you all.”

Those with tickets will receive a full refund within 21 days.

The legendary Welsh rocker’s UK tour includes dates in Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham, and London. The tour kicks off in Nottingham December 4, and wraps up at The O2 in London on December 18.

In July, the band played a pair of homecoming shows at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium.

The All In One Night group released their 13th studio album, Make ‘em Laugh, Make ‘em Cry, Make ‘em Wait in April, which debuted at Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart, marking their ninth chart-topping record.
