Stephen Fry is not a fan of Strictly Come Dancing

Stephen Fry is unlikely to compete on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ because he finds shows like that "cringe".
The 62-year-old actor-and-comedian has compared watching the BBC One ballroom and Latin show to "nails on a blackboard".
Appearing on Saturday’s (14.09.19) episode of ‘The Jonathan Ross Show’, he admitted: "I loathe dancing. It embarrasses me.
"Not only to do it, but to watch other people do it. "The ‘Strictly’-type thing I find absolutely nails on a blackboard. It’s an allergy. I can’t bear dancing. It makes me cringe."
Meanwhile, the ‘QI’ star – who was diagnosed with bipolar disorder – revealed he’s lost over five stone and is feeling "very happy" after shedding the pounds.
He said: "At the moment I’m happy.
"There is the vertical moment and the horizontal and at the moment I’m very happy.
"I’ve lost a bit of weight so I’m feeling proud of myself. I was overweight, I have lost five and a half stone. I was 21 stone nearly, in April I was that heavy."
On how walking lifts his mood, he added: "I walk a lot and that helps my mood as well I find.
"It’s not a guaranteed help for mental stress and anxiety or anything else but it does help me."
Meanwhile, another reason why the former ‘Blackadder’ star might not fancy taking to the dancefloor on ‘Strictly’ is because he’s sensitive to criticism.
Asked about his use of Twitter, Stephen – who has previously deleted his account before returning to the micro-blogging platform – admitted previously: "I am on it but the difference now is that I don’t engage with it very much because of the comments and the unkindness. I am very sensitive. It’s pathetic after all these years, but I am."
‘The Jonathan Ross Show’ airs on Saturday (14.09.19) from 10.15pm on ITV.
