Stephanie Davis so ‘grateful’ for British Soap Awards nomination

Stephanie Davis is feeling "really grateful" after she was named among the British Soap Awards nominees.
The ‘Hollyoaks’ star – who plays Sinead Shelby on the Channel 4 soap – is one of 15 stars on the longlist for the Best Actress accolade, alongside her fellow ‘Oaks’ stars Harvey Virdi (Misbah Maalik), and Lauren McQueen, whose character Lily McQueen will be killed off from the show this week.
Speaking in an Instagram video, Stephanie – who returned to the soap last year after overcoming alcohol issues – said: "I’m doing a video basically to say I’ve been nominated for Best Actress at the British Soap Awards and I can’t believe it,
"I’m feeling really grateful right now. Those of you who have followed my journey will understand, from a year ago to now I cannot believe where I am and how far I’ve come.
"I’m back doing what I love. I’m happy and I’m acting again. And now I’ve been nominated for best actress."
She tweeted: "Hello everyone! So, I’m absolutely DELIGHTED to announce I am up for BEST ACTRESS at @SoapAwards . What a journey it has been hey! It would mean the absolute WORLD to me if you would take a minute to vote for me here’s the link, all my love, Stephanie xx (sic)"
Stephanie will do battle with Bhavna Limbachia – whose ‘Coronation Street’ character Rana Habeeb was killed off last week – in a bid to make the shortlist, and the former ‘Corrie’ star is "humbled" to receive a nod.
She tweeted: "Honoured and humbled to be nominated for Best Actress at this year’s @SoapAwards (sic)"
EastEnders’ Louisa Lytton is also up for Best Actress for her role as Ruby Allen.
She tweeted: "Beyond excited and grateful to be Longlisted for Best Actress at this years @SoapAwards thanks so much!!! How wonderful given the nature of the storyline too @RapeCrisisEandW (sic)"
‘EastEnders’ actor Danny Dyer (Mick Carter) is also among the stars up for the Best Actor prize, including fellow Albert Square residents Zack Morris and Danny Walters, who play respective brothers Keegan Baker and Keanu Taylor.
Over in the ‘Emmerdale’ village, Jeff Hordley (Cain Dingle), Ryan Hawley (Robert Sugden) and Dominic Brunt (Paddy Kirk) are up for Best Actor, as are ‘Corrie’ lads Richard Hawley (Johnny Connor), Jack P Shepherd (David Platt), and Chris Gascoyne (Peter Barlow).
