Steph McGovern halts filming on Channel 4 show until studio is ready

Steph McGovern has halted filming on her Channel 4 talk show until she can get into the studio.
The 37-year-old TV presenter recently brought ‘The Steph Show’ forward and began broadcasting from her living room at the end of March, but she has now decided her family needs their "home back" and the series will launch again "in a couple of months" from its proper studio.
She tweeted: "The last locked down version of #TheStephShow will be next Thurs 7th May.
"Then the plan is to launch again at our fancy studios at Leeds Docks in a couple of months, once they’re safely up and running. (sic)"
Steph – who lives with her partner and their five-month-old daughter – explained that while she’s "loved" having the programme to work on, she didn’t think the initial run would last as long as it has.
She added: "As much as I’ve loved doing a lockdown show at home I never expected it to go on this long.
"We’ve decided it’s time to have a break and give my family our home back.
"The proper prog will be launching when the Leeds studio is sorted, I may still be wearing slippers."
Steph’s programme has seen her beamed onto TV screens live from her own home discussing a mix of entertainment, lifestyle and current affairs as part of the channel’s mission to provide viewers with updates of the virus.
Channel 4’s Director of Programming Ian Katz previously said: "The perfect person to do that is Steph McGovern, one of the best loved and most versatile broadcasters in the country and I’m delighted that we have been able to bring forward the launch of her new show, broadcast live from her Yorkshire home daily from Monday."
