Stanley Johnson is being lined up for wildlife show

Stanley Johnson is reportedly being lined up for his own wildlife show.
The 77-year-old politician and author won over the hearts of the nation last month when he entered the ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’ camp and, now that he’s out of the jungle, bosses at ITV are keen to speak to him about fronting his own series.
A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "When he gets back there will definitely be discussions about more TV. He is very likeable on screen and has huge knowledge on the environment, particularly gorillas. He spoke a lot about the environment in the cap."
However, the ITV’s rival the BBC will no doubt be devastated to learn of the channel’s plans as they reportedly signed him up for next year’s series of ‘The Real Margiold Hotel’ – before he went into the jungle – and believe his recent stint has ruined their big surprise.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Obviously Stanley was under strict instructions from ITV to keep his appearance totally secret. But bosses at the BBC are still annoyed because they had no clue he was appearing on a major rival. They’ve already signed him up and are well under way with making the show, so it’s too late to change anything.
"He was being planned as a major surprise and there were high hopes he’d be the big hit. But the excitement of getting him on board has been really overshadowed."
Meanwhile, Stanley was one of the favourites to win ‘I’m A Celebrity…’ so he was understandably shocked and disappointed when he was given the boot this week.
He said: "You know, I was really disappointed not to win. I didn’t go in there thinking: ‘Let’s get out early so we can have a nice weekend in the Gold Coast.
"I was totally disappointed, honestly. I gave it my best. It didn’t work. The people were fantastic , the place – Australia – the finest rain forest you can imagine."
