Stacey Dooley hated make-up before Strictly Come Dancing

Stacey Dooley says Lisa Armstrong sparked her interest in make-up during her time on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 33-year-old filmmaker – who won the 2018 series of the dance competition – has admitted she never enjoyed wearing a full face of make-up until she met the 43-year-old make-up artist on the BBC One show, as she would "layer" products onto her skin for the competition.
She explained, according to Metro.co.uk: "Lisa’s a sweetheart, I’ve got a really great relationship with her and actually it was really funny because when I first started doing ‘Strictly’ I was so not into make-up.
"I was saying, ‘Oh, can I have a bit of lip balm and a bit of mascara, that’ll do me’ and they were going, ‘It’s just not happening, you have to have a full beat.’ I mean layer after layer after layer. And then you get to week 10 and you’re really enthused like, ‘Do I need a couple more lashes?’ So she was reminding me of that. It was a really fun day."
The beauty guru will join Stacey on the upcoming series of the BBC Three beauty competition – which is presented by the documentary-maker – as they search for the next make-up star.
Lisa joined the panel in series one as a guest judge, and this year she will be joined by fellow ‘Strictly’ star Michelle Visage.
The second series of ‘Glow Up’ will feature 10 contestants living and working together as they fiercely compete to win the contract – which will give them the chance to assist some of the world’s biggest make-up artists.
