Sophie Kasaei: Geordie Shore led to my weight gain

Sophie Kasaei blames ‘Geordie Shore’ for her weight gain.
The reality TV star went from a size 12 to 16 after the MTV show launched in 2011, as her diet became dominated by takeaways and alcohol – but she’s now regained control of her lifestyle, meaning she’s been able to shed her excess weight.
Sophie – who was one of the show’s original cast members – told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: "’Geordie Shore’ was a lot of fun but the show was terrible for my figure. It made me fat.
"My diet consisted of fish and chips, pizzas, kebabs and burgers – and I’d be shoving cakes down my face every night. Then it would be free drinks at nightclubs.
"It was a vicious circle and, inevitably, it started to take its toll on my body. I knew it was not good for me but I was in a rut."
Although Sophie initially loved starring on the show, it soon began to take its toll on her wellbeing.
She recalled: "When we were filming, I’d have a sausage sandwich for breakfast, Nando’s for lunch, curry for dinner followed by free vodkas in nightclubs until the early hours.
"If I was peckish between meals I would snack on crisps, sweets and fizzy drinks. I got so addicted to salt that I’d sprinkle it on my fruit.
"You have to remember that I grew up not being able to afford to go out for meals or get takeaways, so being able to have all that was a dream come true."
