Sophie Faldo wants to Dancing on Ice

Sophie Faldo wants to compete on ‘Dancing On Ice’.
The ‘Great British Bake Off’ winner is "a bit jealous" that last year’s baking champion Candice Brown has landed a slot on the celebrity skating contest and she’d love to do the revamped show in the future.
She said: "I admit I’m a bit jealous of Candice learning to ice skate on ‘Dancing On Ice’. I’d love to do it one day.
"I’m really looking forward to seeing her on that. She’s so elegant.
"I think I have a different skill set to [her and Nadiya Hussain]. I’m interested in sport and adventure, health, and performance food so I’m hoping I can find my avenue."
But the former Army officer isn’t so keen at turning her hand to presenting.
She said: "I’m not quite sure. I feel quite comfortable in front of the camera so I’d never say never to that, but I think it’s a case of whether other people want me there."
One thing that’s definitely on the cards for Sophie is a patisserie book.
She said: "That’s next in the pipeline. I think that’s what I’m known for and what stood out for me. I want to show home bakers how to do the more refined stuff.
"I’d also like to do a book about performance nutrition and tie in the cycling and the baking. I’m a sponsored athlete on a track cycling race team, which I’m going to keep up. The dream is just to have a career in baking, whatever form that takes."
The 34-year-old baker could have missed out on winning the show as both she and one of the runners up, Steven Carter-Bailey, missed the original application deadline.
She told OK! magazine: "I actually missed the deadline. We were working hard at the time and I let it slip by the wayside.
"I said, ‘Oh well, I wasn’t going to get picked anyway’ and then they extended the deadline. I think Steven missed it too."
