Sister Sledge want Glastonbury legend spot

Sister Sledge would "love" to perform the legend’s Sunday afternoon slot at Glastonbury Festival.

The ‘We Are Family’ hitmakers last played the world famous music festival in south west England in 2013 with close pal Nile Rodgers and they are keen to return.

Asked if they’d be up for performing the legend slot, singer Joni Sledge exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "I would really love to do that. I’ve heard about that and I think we should investigate it more. We would love it. We played Glastonbury already and I would love to do it again."

Meanwhile, festival organiser Emily Eavis has hinted that she’d love to get Adele to headline the festival and Sister Sledge are big fans of the ‘Hello’ hitmaker.

Emily told i-D magazine: "We love Adele. She’s an incredible artist and brilliantly honest and funny and real and that’s what everybody loves about her. She’s a great example because she doesn’t put up any pretence. It would be great to get her."

Following Emily’s comments, Joni said: "Adele has found a place in her soul where she sings from and she has worked on her craft. She has a very agile beautiful well-trained voice. That is one thing that I really admire about her and she’s not trying to be anybody else. I really adore her."

Sister Sledge will perform at Women of the World festival at London’s Southbank Centre on Sunday March 13.

They also have a new track out in April, ‘Women are the Music of the World’.
